Question before buy the program

Hello Guys,

I just got a quick question about this program(WAM) since I owned "Password Wizard". I was never able to make password wizard work entirely due to people would be able to go straight to the protected page passing over the protection. I did try to copy/paste the piece of script on password wizard forum where you need to put once piece on your loging page and the other on the protected page, but to be honest it never works (probably because i did something wrong but I did try it a lot of times) saying all of that.

Will WAM have the same problem or developer came up with the idea to include the necessary script in the end result without me having to do anything else?

Thanks in advance for your feedback, I really appreciated it.

Peace Out!!!!!

WAM will work for you, because it sounds like you were trying to use password wizard like you want to use WAM. WAM will protect an entire folder so that people wont skip over - in fact, they won't be able to.

yep what eric said :P

Also you don't have any scripting you have to do with it either, it's just the click of a check box to give access or remove it once you create the accounts. Pretty slick piece of software.

Ok I have a question about WAM. I want to creat a secure place for folk to post prayer requests on my web site. I want them to be able to select a user name and password then beable to have access to that part of the site. Will this program work for me. Or is there something different that would work better. I don't want them to have to wait for me to enter the information for them before they have access.

Hiya Tina,

Sounds to me like a forum setup would work a lot better for what you're needing. This wouldn't be too hard to setup and SMF or phpBB forums are pretty nice. SMF is a little more user friendly and pretty powerful to give you the login, the posting abilities and you can create groups that are allowed to see certain areas and post in certain areas pretty easily.

If you're not looking for a forum setup, then the WAM would help for the most part, but it isn't something that can be automated to create logins. If you use this program you will need to setup accounts in WAM manually yourself giving them access to whatever areas you want them to get to, and then give the users their login information. Once this is done then they will then have access to whatever pages you have setup for them. Do keep in mind that they will have to access, but this will not be a typical "login" that you would put on your website as a login area. If you just put a link on the website page they can click it and it will open the login box that is created by the web rather than the program itself. You can view how this work by checking out this thread:

Hi Jo Ann,

Tina's question is similar to mine. I did do your test site- that was helpful thanks! I *think* my question is a little bit different....

I want to have an area where people can have discussions (yes I'm looking at SMF and phpBB) however I want to do the following:

1. I have to personally approve the registrant
2. The registrant can only access the discussion(s) I choose, not the whole board
3. I have the ability to remove the registrant

Because people will be discussing financial aspects of their business, it is very important to ensure the privacy of their information. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hiya padawan,

This is something you would do with the Forum software itself, you don't need WAM or any access software for that unless you don't want them to even get to the Forum page itself at all without access levels to get there, which might get kind of redundant for your users to have to log 2 times to use it.

Inside all your forum software such as SMF and phpBB there are built in member groups that allow you to set them up with whatever access you want them to have, to whatever forums and such. They aren't too hard to setup, and some times have some good help files for them too. Give that a try and see how that works, this will keep your forum clean and such without all the spam and members you don't want on it.

You can create groups for any level you like, you can create forums that only some member groups have access or all have access or only admins have access or anything you like. Pretty versatile without needing outside help for the most part :)

Jo Ann,

As always you are very helpful! Thanks. I'm experimenting now with SMF.

I keep adding to my CC software collection.... maybe I was just looking for an excuse to buy more? (he he he).

Thanks again.

hehe padawan, I know that feeling... I .... Must .... Spend .... Money .... NOW! LOL

Have fun with SMF, I have a screenshot of what I've done with it for a guild I am in for gaming below. If you could see how it started out you'd be amazed at how you can customize it with a little change here and there to the code itself as well as just altering things in the css and php files right within the Admin panel itself.

I added the Portal addon to mine to give it a website like look which turned out pretty slick I think. Check it out :)

Whited out a few things that gave personal details but you should get the idea of what you can do with it. And you don't "have" to edit the files if you dont' want to, just that I had a helper that knows some php and javascript more than I do so he helped me alter the theme itself. :)

Jo Ann,

Can I just say... Wow! That is truly amazing. I am playing a bit with the theme, and you've really opened my eyes.... Again it looks really cool. Doesn't hurt that I love dragons either.

I'm going to check out the Portal add on.

Thanks again,
