Question about custom redirects -...

Using latest version I was able to create access to my site. I check it and it works excellent. My problems is using custom redirect pages. I decided to create a custome page to use for all redirects. I point to the page using the "Global Error Page" option in advanced option. Please keep in mind I have tested the connection and it was successful so I know that works. I save my choice and then upload to server. No errors! Now I go to my site, I cancel the login to generate an error responce and instead of getting my custom page I actualy am dropped to a page that displays the file itself "account_request.html" on the blank page.

Just in case we are not clear - the page does not open to my custom form request I created in CoffieCup Form Builder, but just a blank page with my URL displayed and in the page it says the file name I am trying to redirect to open "account_request.html". Now I have checked and I can edit the documents on my site and change them if I choose (no restrictions by host company). My question is am I causing this my self by putting the wrong path to the file under the Global Error section? Any ideas on this one - has anyone seen this before?

One other question if I may - On "Advanced Folder Option" I bullet "Use Global Error Page" and then I have tried different formats such as /account_request.html, using the entire path such as http://www.mysite.com/public_html/account_request.html, also just the file name no slashes etc...etc..
What is the proper syntax that I should be using when I enter a page to use - full path slashes etc.?

Thanks

Can we get a link to your site where the error is occurring?

Because you canceled the authentication (login), it will not use any custom error page at this point. Those will only work before or after authentication. I think that is the root cause of all your confusion/issues.

Yea, I agree with Scott.

Well taking your advise I attempted to login but this time I just entered a name that did not exist in my access file and when it failed I had the same thing occure. The page refreshes with the file name listed in it but did not open the file. So I see a page with just my file name listed at the top never opens the file. Also I am user this as the file to open in the case of all errors not just a 401. Am I putting in the correct syntax when I enter the path to the file on the "Global Error Page"? Is there a correct syntax to be using for this entry? What else could cause this to occure - any ideas?

Something you may want to check is if your hosting provider even allows those all to be configured individually. I have seen some providers limit which error pages you can configure.

Just and FYI - Hostmonster does allow full controll over the error pages. In fact the encourage it - so at this point I am not sure what the heck is going on. I will driect some questions over to Hostmonster and see what they have to say and update back here. Thanks for your help.
