Email not working

Ok, I;m not a dummy when it comes to this and have done this plenty of times. I can not get the program to send email. It fails the authentication and I know for a fact that I am inputting the correct data. It's the same info that I have in Outlook which is working fine.

I know the following are correct and have tried a dozen times:

User Name
Password
SMTP Server
Requires Authentication same as above.

Any ideas?

Wish I could help ya there Tom, but I've never used that feature or had reason to yet. I'm not good with SMTP stuff so I'll have to find out what needs to go in that box, and I'm pretty sure I need to do that from home since I am still on vacation till after the first and not on my own internet at the moment. Hopefully someone else will be able to help you figure this one out, good luck on it :)

The only way it could fail is if one or more of the items is incorrect. I use it all the time with my Gmail and Yahoo account data.

Without checking authentication, it logs in but fails to send because 1and1 requires smtp authentication.

Connecting to SMTP Server: smtp.1and1.com Port: 25...
Connected. Logging Into SMTP Server...
SMTP Server Login Completed.
Sending Test Email to myemail.com
SMTP Message Send FAILED: 550 must be authenticated

SMTP Quitting.

Test Complete..

With authentication required checked it fails.

Connecting to SMTP Server: smtp.1and1.com Port: 25...
Connected. Logging Into SMTP Server...
Attempting SMTP Auth Login...
UserName: myemail.com Password: mypassword
SMTP Auth Login failed
SMTP Quitting.

Test Complete.

It's the same settings that I have used in Outlook and Thunderbird many times. The settings I'm using are correct. Any other ideas?

It works fine when I use my roadrunner email which does not require authentication but fails when I must use authentication for the 1and1 account. I really can't see how I input the wrong info by simply checking a box to authenticate using the same login info.

Anybody else with 1and1 who must authenticate their SMTP want to give this shot and let me know how it went? Thanks.

Are you using the latest version of WAM? SMTP authentication is one of the new features.

Scott,

Have you tested using a 1and1 site and an onsite email address? I played around with it some, but did not have time to get it working.

Guess I should get back and test it again.

I did test it out just before we released the newest version of WAM and it worked fine, but I have not tried it out since then.

If you look at the code I posted you will see that it logged into my 1and1 SMTP successfully but failed to send the email because the SMTP authentication box was not checked. So my settings are correct. It logged into the server successfully. :P

Checking the SMTP authentication box to send mail using the same UN and PW should correct the problem, but it doesn't. :/

1and1 is not blocking the port and I have tried their alternate port as well. This works with every email client I have ever used so it's not my settings.
