Well I've decided to use the form 'as is' - and I just hope that users don't tick the newsletter box if they're already signed up.
NB. I've now made it an 'opt in' rather than an 'opt out' tick box.
Jo Ann - I know your suggestion of not using the mailchimp integration will fix things but surely we should be striving to make this feature work, plus I've already told my client that I can do it.
So my form is now live at www.beanandbrush.co.uk
In my recent testing I also noticed that the error box has red text at the top which in not visible due to the red background - surely that needs fixing if nothing else? (Use the mouse to highlight it) See Below...
Please can we tidy this error message up? (More discrete / Font colour problem / inform that the message has still been sent)

Hiya Robert,
I agree with much of your points. I too think many things should be within the program rather than having to set things up within the files themselves and have to keep resetting them up whenever you do any updates to the forms. Many times this might not be a worry, but usually any time the programs get an update they need you to open your current forms and resave them in order for them to update to the new version's setup. That will unfortunately overwrite any files you change manually so... yeah a bit of a hassle to me.
Having said all that, you can go to the files and locate the area that the error code is setup in the CSS files (most likely in the default css file). and you can change that color in there as well as a million other things. Unfortunately that won't fix your Mailchimp issue, and I'm sorry that it does what it does for you, but in the end it really is working as intended for that.

I talked with our developers on this and this will be corrected in version 2.0. They are going to make some modifications to the theme so that this does not look this way.

Great News! Any idea when version 2 is expected?
For what it's worth, I think the best solution would be for the form to complete normally, as per one of the confirm options, then the user would receive an email reminding them that they have previously signed up (and perhaps offer a password reset/reminder)
Now while I have your attention! When I uploaded this form for testing on my server it worked fine (except for the mailchimp problem), however when I uploaded to my clients server I got the error message attached. - I have fixed this problem by using S-Drive instead but can anyone tell me what the problem is?
NB. Client uses 123reg
Once again, thanks for all the help!
Rob.

That error looks to me like it's not accepting a 2 part domain name extension
.co.uk
not sure if that's the case, but looks like that to me.
.co.uk

I've used CC forms on several .co.uk domains with no problem... I think it doesn't like the 'from' email address being from a different domain (one not hosted by 123reg)
Version 2 Update:
This problem is now fixed! Well done and thank you!
FYI - The email will now send normally with no error message at all. The fact that the address is already registered with Mail Chimp is ignored... The ideal solution, thanks again!

Hey I am a new kid on the block. I love the fact that I have found the answers to my questions in these forums, at least so far. I figured if it was happening to me it prolly has happened to someone else. Great Job!!
