Hi Folks,

I'm stumped on using CoffeCup Web Form Builder 1.2. I'm hoping someone can offer some guidance or suggestions to me. I have a form where a user has two options. The user can select either Windows or Mac as the option. What I would like to do is if the user selected Windows, provide them with a link where they can download our Windows version of the software. If they select Mac, then I want to provide the Mac link for the software.

What I can't figure out is how I can code for this distinction and provide the correct link in the return email.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Phil

Hiya Phil,

I don't think the program itself is capable of making conclusions and sending out specific email responses based on form choices. I'm pretty sure it has only one email response that can be sent. You can make that response be anything you want, but I don't believe there are multiple choices as to which email to send, I think only one can be setup at a time.

Why not make it easier yet and just send a link to both and let the person just download the one they need instead of making the form choose it for them? Granted it's not what you're asking it to do, but it would be a lot easier than trying to work a script into the program to do this :)

I just want to be able to put some text in the HTML email that is the link based on the condition of MAC or Windows. I guess I could take the slacker route suggested by Jo Ann :D but I want to track the number of requests for each version.

You can track the number of requests through a MySQl or csv file.:)

Very neat Eric just shows there is more than one way to skin a cat, your Jquery is pretty impressive.

What Eric demonstrated Phillip is exactly what you are after. He showed how by choice you could display one of three paths. Each of those paths could have a download link or email link. You only need 2. I do not know enough about Jquery but maybe an email could be sent on choice. Ask. A form is only a link in the chain, it accepts data, other links and they can be very varied follow on from there. Think of this. Buying a car gives you the means but wont take you there.
