Same here. You should also enable the auto-responder option as well. This way your customers get an email when they fill out the form.

Thanks for all the replies, I do appreciate the help. Eric and Scott, you guys did not get an auto response? I do have this option set.

Eric, I did get your test message ... but shortly after that I received a failure to deliver ... I figured you just used a formatted addy but not real to test the form

The contact seems to be working OK now, although the from address that it shows on the form result is kinda strange. it says the form came from this address: CsitesmetalstockcomhttpdocssitecontactareaMSIcontactexportedMSIcontact@www.metal-stock.com ... how in the heck did it come up with this?

I deleted and reloaded both forms, I cleared my machine, even restarted it and the quote form is still not reaching the redirect "thank you" page. It seems to send all the right notifications and all, it just will not redirect.

I have never had issues getting a form to work, it's got to be something simple that is just eluding me. Back to the drawing board.

Thanks again for the help.

Go into the Settings > Email Notices and the FROM address, change that to the email element name. So what you would see there is [email1] or whatever it is for your form. This then will deliver the email from whatever was entered into the form.

As to the auto-reply, I did not receive one.

Thanks Scott, I thought I had done all that but I am going to redo it all.

Again thanks for all the help guys. I fixed most all the issues I had. Except one ... and it is totally messing with my head. I have done so many of those forms and never had this issue. Anyhow, I have two forms on this site I am working to complete.

I have 1 contact form ... works just fine, when someone hits "Submit" they get redirected to this page; http://www.metal-stock.com/site/global/ … cting.html ... all is good

Then I have one called "Request a Quote" it is built nearly the same as the "Contact" form and is set to redirect to this page; http://www.metal-stock.com/site/global/thx4quote.html. The form sends the message to the intended recipient and also sends the BCC I requested on the settings ... but the form does not send the auto response to the customer and it will not redirect to the "thank you" page. Once submit is pressed, the form disappears from the page, and that's it.

I looked around at all the form files ... I did find the "gotopage" statement and it looks right ... I am totally perplexed

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hello again,

Well I have worked on this for several hours, still no luck. I have the form installed on another server, and it redirects just fine. I am thinking this is maybe some kind of server issue. I ran the server test script, and it looks like everything is in order ... unless I missed something.

Thanks Eric, this is why this is so puzzling to me that I can't get my other form, the "Get A Quote" form on the same site to return my redirect like the contact page does ... I just got finished transferring the whole site to a different server and it seems to work there, which makes no sense to me because both forms are basically the same. So why would both forms work on one server, but only one works when moved to a different server?

Thanks

Are you writing to a csv or MYSQl on the form that doesn't work?

No, really just a simple form, it only sends the request to one address, no data being saved, then a redirect on the submit ... just like the contact form. Actually the contact form could be consider a bit more complicated because it is set up with the contact list.

Here is the form in question ... the first one listed does not work properly (no redirect and no auto response ... it does however send the email notice to the right recipient ... that's it.).

The second one works great, it is merely sitting on a different server, and yes I did change the redirect for each appropriate domain.

1- http://www.metal-stock.com/site/quotearea/quoteme.html

2- http://www.thierryboehm.com/site/quotearea/quoteme.html

Your a welcome to try them, someone will catch the test email.

Thanks

Did you completely delete all the form files manually and then ftp the new ones?
Also how about the redirect being "http://www.mydomain.com" or "http://mydomain.com".
