Major problems uploading - Post ID...

I've had to update a form to include dates for the second half of this year, I've been avoiding doing it, as I knew it would create problems! Here's the form http://www.flintanddenbighrc.com/Dressageentry.html which works perfectly. I've toyed with the paypal option on the new form, but I just cannot seem to upload it, no matter what I try. I've got lots of forms on other websites, all of which work fine, and upload fine, this one always causes me problems. I've tried about 30 times now, nothing! I'm using the export method of uploading. Can anyone make any suggestions?

It's hard to test if all the files didn't make it to the server. Did you try a smaller test form to a different directory? What ftp program are you using to upload?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

All my forms are on the same hosting! Do I copy over the entire folder, and the php file, or do I open the folder and copy over whats in it, and then the php file?

I've tried both ways, and neither work!

I'm using FTP commander, which is the same one I use for all the others.

Managed to sort this out by saving under a different file name!

Hiya Janet,

Glad you got it worked out. As for the file uploads, what I tend to do before I even open the form to edit it (always, not just when I haven't done so in a while) is create a backup first of the .fb file and the files that I have uploaded.

Then I open the form and edit it and export it. Then I delete the files completely from the server and upload the new ones. This keeps any files from causing havoc if there's any changes to the structure in the future (most likely not, but I got in this habit years ago from software changing how they work things and start using different files.. and not deleting the old ones for you lol).

Good luck on the rest of it :)

A different name?
As in no spaces in the name maybe? Can you please tell us so it will help another user that might be looking for ideas.

Hi, I just added a '2' to the end of the file name, exported it, and bob's yer uncle!

Sounds like a permission issue but ultimately renaming solved your issue. As long as it worked and it gives another user an idea to try.
Thanks for sharing.:)
