Tried again this morning and I got in and got the 2 keys. Placed them in WFB and exported. Put the snippet in the correct element tab and saved (on the three pages listed) - uploaded pages - uploaded the folder and php from form builder but the captcha isnt showing up. I'm sure I have missed a simple step but can't imagine what it is.

Did you use version 3 for the recaptcha because version 3 is invisible and works in the background however version 3 is also incompatible with web form builder it needs to be version 2

I changed to vers 2 (your right I did use vers 3) but its still not showing up at all under Chrome and Bing has error

ERROR for site owner:Invalid key type.

Not sure what to change I copied the site key and the secret key from Google generated page.

You need to copy and paste the secret key, then save the web form builder file, then you need copy and paste the site key and save again. Then you can publish or export the web form builder.

Sometimes it seems to not save both keys if you don't save them individually after pasting

Ok - I reloaded the folder and php and repasted the code in SD. After I reloaded the keys from Google and now I get ERROR for site owner invalid key type on all forms
