Hi, I am trying to develop my first web site and have a calendar for the site with five differing sub organisations e.g. section a, section b,...section e. The calendar works perfectly in IE and FF but does not in Opera or Chrome. Are there any known issues with compatibility with these browsers? and if so, how do I go about fixing them. I have VERY limited knowledge and am try to learn css and JavaScript as quickly as I can but it all takes time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Usagi

Hi,
Maybe if you could give us an url and describe some of what you did before you discovered it?

When you tested your calendar in Opera and Chrome, did you test after uploading, or as just a file still on your computer?

I just tried it now, and the file on my computer displayed fine in Opera, but I had just a blank page in Chrome. After uploading both browsers were able to show the calendar.

Check if you can see my calendar (very basic, though) with those two browsers:

Which editor are you using. The doc type for the web page is important.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

I used the doctype that is produced by the Calendar software; html5.

Tried now with html 4.01 transitional, just locally. Same result as with html5.

Hi Inger,
As I said earlier, I am just a beginner working on my first site and trying to learn as I go. At this stage I am only testing on my computer and have not looked into the intricities of trying to get on the web as yet. I am probably being a bit ambitious as I am using six frames and have sixteen menu items with three frames changing with each menu click. Most things are working but I will need to go back and clean up a few things once I learn a little more about css, etc. Your calendar worked in both Chrome and Opera when I down loaded it. When I click on my menu item "CALENDAR/EVENTS" all that comes up is my background colour in these two browsers. I have tried disabling the background colour and all that comes up then is a white page. If I click the mouse quickly on the menu item I can see a brief flash that says to the effect "error, content did not load" yet it works O.K. in I.E. and F.F. I am using Dreamweaver CS5 and have tried loading my code into CoffeeCup HTML Editor 2010 but still no go.

This is just probably and issue with loading JavaScript's locally in Chrome. Once you upload, everything will work fine.

I have the opposite prob. Works in Chrome and Moxilla but not in IE. Also use Front Page as editor.
