I searched the forum and found one other person asking about this. I did not notice an answer to his/her post so I'll copy and paste their question here as it is the same as my own.

copied from a post in 08:

Does the web calendar software provide for multiple users and access levels. I would like to have some users with ful access to everything, others that can update only certain calendars, others that can only add events and others that can only view calendars. Is this possible with the calendar program offered?

Thank you!

I am guessing you could use WAM to complete the task you are looking for. :D Simply set up the calenders with user names and off you go. :D

Thank SirAge. If WAM offers each of my users ftp access, that would probably work. Thing is, this is a small club and multiple licenses (for both the WebCalendar and WAM) would be prohibitive. I will offer it as a suggestion and see if they like it.

Thanks again, I'll get quick and friendly advise from this forum.

Why would you need multiple copies of WAM? It is just controls a password protected site. Unless you have multiple people working on the site in the club you should only need one copy of each program. Unless of course I am misunderstanding you.

Hiya JS,

Neither program that is mentioned up to now can do what you need it to do. The WAM program can setup access to an extent, but it cannot set up access to specific functions olny to specific pages or folders of a site. The Calendar program has no functions in it at all for access or setting up access for other people. You can have them either have access to it in full or not. The Calendar would need to be updated within the program itself so each person that would update it would need to have a paid copy of the program.

The ability to give specific people access to specific calendars would be possible by providing them a copy of the file the calendar saves it's settings in. The issue with this is that they would have to upload it each time so anyone else with access to that calendar can download it each time etc. This could get messy if someone forgot to upload the file, or someone forgets to download it and ends up overwriting other people's event additions.

The Web Calendar is not like your typical sharing calendar like Google Calendar and a few others. It's an event calendar to display events and that's pretty much it. Not an interactive calendar.

The Web Access Manager does not have an account management system that has access levels, it just has access at all it's either yes or no.

Hope that answers your questions.
