What is best software to use for...
I am building a website for clients that I need to protect. Each client has their own folder, so I need to protect the folder with a password. When the client signs in, I need the password program to send that user to their folder index.html page. Does CC software make anything to do this. I have tried website access manager and do not see any way to direct the customer to a page. I have tried Password Wizard, and can get the customer directed, but it does not really secure the directory. Any ideas????????

Unfortunately, you're correct on both accounts of the programs you've tried. What usually works best is to give your customers their own ID and Password using Website Access Manager, and then give them also a link to their page rather than a login on the home page. Tell them to bookmark their page and I can definitely say that WAM is secure enough for this to work very nicely for what you want. It just doesn't have an intuitive login for multiple redirections so you do need to give the links directly to your users.
Only other way you'll be able to do what you need will be to use PHP to code it or to use a CMS type website. Good luck with it whatever way you decide to go, but I'd definitely give WAM another shot and just send your clients an email with their information for logging in along with a link to that page for them to do so.

ASP .net and Visual Studio 2010 is exactly what your looking for. If you download the free Visual Studio express from MS http://www.microsoft.com/express/Windows/ the functionality is already ready to go in VS's C# asp .net 4.0 & 3.5 webform application. Of course you'll need a basic understanding of either C# or VB. But you can probably get mastery of the basics in under 24 hours. Of course what your describing really needs some sort of databaseto store the user specific info. SQL Express is free and is a little bit more robust than XML or MS Access DB.

Not to detract from Jo Ann or Levi but Patrick there are several open source apps depending on your specifics. Joomla and Drupal both have components to provide this.

PS: You can integrate CC software with both.
