What is a Coffeecup Ambassador? -...

I was surfing the forums and saw an interesting thread where someone was struggling with their windows interface and VSD. This may have been a correctable problem(sounded like uac or firewall as usual), but what was interesting was the fact they only had 2 post and had been appointed an the position of Ambassador. This confused me because I thought Ambassador was those that a great deal of experience with Coffeecup(ie. D.Sellars)?

To be an ambassador, do you just buy the "big cup" or something?

Can non-ambassadors bump threads or is that not allowed..?Ok, I have carefully determined that this isn't a huge issue on the coffeecup forums...after seeing the views, but what the heck, I might as well have some fun with it....

Don't get me wrong, I still think these forums are great...

Hi. Sorry you are not getting any answers here. Not sure when it started, but many CoffeeCup users (a couple years back) got an invitation to become "Ambassadors". We got an "Ambassador Kit" with some business card offering a deal on CoffeeCup software and links to tools that might help us advertise just how good we thought CoffeeCup programs were. It was sort of a "spread the word" campain, and now there are thousands of CoffeeCup Ambassadors around the world.

Not sure if it's the same as when I started, but it was an "invitation only" sort of deal. It had nothing to do with how many programs you purchased, or the "number of posts" in the forum.

Honestly, I don't know the real cryteria that is used to select Ambassadors. I do know that I had not purchsed the "big Cup" and only had a few of the CoffeeCup programs at that time. If you are interrested in becomming an Ambassador, or finding out more about it, send Coffeecup a note in "Get Support" / "Ask a Question" and I'm sure they will be happy to give you better details.

Cliff sir, thank you for that answer. I guess it was the fact that I just got use to the other forums where different titles were based on the number of post.

When I browse these forums, it's usually around 30% looking for new solutions(I noticed that experienced users have jioned in the past few months) and 70% when others need help...I would target those post with 0 replies, but since you and Bill have been around, those are very rare(usually spam).

One thing is for sure, again, they made a good choice by making you an advisor.:)

I thank you for your kind words, and Everyone in the forum appreciates you and others who volunteer to help answer questions.

Do keep in mind that most Ambassadors will have more posts, since they have probably been CoffeeCup customers for a number of years. There may also be new(er) Ambassadors, and I have seen the post "count" get reset back to 0 when there is a tittle change. I know that has happened to me, more than once and my post count would be much higher otherwise.
