Well Viv once a Pom always a Pom. I stayed up watching the procession on the Thames. Did you drag your long boat there in the flotilla. I looked but didn't see any likely suspects. It is like when I watch Wimbledon it only starts for us about 11pm. I have just had a couple of hours sleep. I got up to sort our small dog and I am going back to have a kip shortly. Benefits of being retired without family commitment at the moment.
Rule Britannia says I. I am still an British Subject. Don't mind seeing them get flogged by the Aussie teams though.

We had a great street party just around the corner and most of my day was spent there until it started to rain and we went into the pub, late in the evening I got to see the procession on the Thames.

Boats were there by invitation only - mine was lost in post there was a boat there called Tarporley which was rebuilt by Dave Thomas "tradnarrowboats in my signature" and i guess was invited for both historic reasons as it was an x working boat and also as now it is used for charity work.

I will try and get a picture of it in the flotilla now to add to his website.

PS mines more of half a boat than a longboat only 37' 6" not full 72'

I miss the good old corner pub. They are more clinical here. There was one I went to called the Thatched Tavern out near Virginia Waters I believe. My Gosh that was over 50 years ago. I actually lined up to see the Queen at her Coronation as a kid. If it wasn't for the weather I would still be there. No regrets though.

Prism, I hope you got to see the Jubilee concert on TV as it was really brilliant. The Jubilee is just about over and next the Olympics in London.

Yes it was an amazing event. Have it on disk now.I expect the Olympics to be also. I am looking forward to it, plenty of early mornings for us here.

A royal family is one thing America would give their eye teeth for if you knew the truth of it. Should have seen the cuffufle when Tassie Mary became Princess of Denmark. No matter what is thought, first comes Emperor then King/Queen then who cares, the rest, Presidents,Prime Ministers, Generals and the rest of us rabble are just pheasants.
