At the risk of sounding pretentious and causing coffeecup some loss of earnings from site designer upgrade, based on the website as shown in your signature, I would humbly suggest that this site designer upgrade/update will not be of any benefit to you whatsoever, except for the "preview on" thinghy you will probably never use any of the new features and in fact with all due respect could do with learning how to tell site designer what you want it to do for you
Looking at your site even with one of the builds from a year ago, you could have a very neat and functional website that will attract visitors and possibly customers for one or more of those certificate/document thingies.

Well, I think, if Greg uses social media for advertising his services, he could also make good use of the Open Graph and Twitter Card additions to SD.

The site was easier to understand earlier. Greg is a painter, and he used to have a site where that was offered clearly and unambiguously. Now his index page is littered with the announcements of various 'documents' that he makes, and the painting jobs are kind of drowning in all that noise. I think he ought to split it into the painting and the other stuff, i.e. make two sites. They can well be linked to each other, with an unobtrusive note like 'see what else I do', or something similar.

Greg, I'm sorry, but I really think you should follow my advice and separate the different kinds of services you offer. House painting and document creation are too different (Materials, purposes, your skills) to be successfully advertised on the same website.

What Inger says is proven if one looks at the data for the website https://workhorsepainting.com/ visitors last month

This can only be estimated as a good guess based on available statistics and is not intended as anything but an example,

Estimated total visits 349

Bounce Rate (people leaving almost straight away even without checking other pages

100%
IN OTHER WORDS, EVERY VISITOR

I do understand that the website is under construction and isn't finished (well I would hope it isn't finished) but honestly, a website shouldn't actually be up there available on the internet (WWW) unless it's ready to go. Search Engines are indexing that website already, and are scoring it for their search engine results pages, and even for painting and secorating services in Florida the website is nowhere to be seen (unless you have all day to scroll though the results. It’s the same sort of result if you even narrow the search down to "Jacksonville" Florida.

So now one of the latest additions to Site Designer, is the ability to Preview On (Locally) this has been around with limitations for a while and is pretty good to get a rough idea what it looks like on a browser. THE LATES ADDITION to that is the ability to actually be able to view it LIVE PREVIEW that is stored locally just as if it was on a server (which it is ) so not only can you really look at it but you can share it (providing your PC is connected to WIFI service and you do some twiddling.

Not only that but the contact form, is the same one as Gregg complained about again not really surprising when you take a look at it.
GREG POSTED
For about 8 years now I have not gotten one hit from a customer on the web site. I have received a few hits on the form from people looking for a job from me or people trying to sell me something but no customer inquiries

Even the first field on the form would drive me away
____________________________________________________
Name: first,last *(required)

John,Doe

(friendly hint)

SERIOUSLY surely most visitors (even the automatic botts) know their name (First Last) but to have a friendly hint below
that would put me off straight away was I a punter or with my sort of wierd sence of humor I wouls actually probably put John Doe

The address

example below
222 Serenity Ln., Neptune Bch., 32266 b]Thats not my address!!![/b] (but I will put that if thats what you want)

and so it goes on all the way down

I am only saying all this because the version of site designer Gregg used to create the website, has some pretty nice featiures that couldhave been used to good effect to try to keep potential clients on the site a bit longer, and possibly even make an enquirey. SITE DESIGNER has not been used to it's full capabilities

So to return to the point
YES SITE DESIGNER has been updated with some pretty cool and useful additions. 0Whether or not one will find then useful are even use them, depends on you, make your own mind up, and decide if the upgrade(update) is worth it, So as 0Inger pointed out The new thingies for putting stuff on SOCIAL MEDIA, could be pretty good for his type of business, (Social Media is fast overtaking the tried and tested way of searching for something)

So if as a website owner you are considering getting your website up there on (YouTube,Twitter, LinkedIn etc etc,
the latest version IS DEFINATELY worth the money if you are considering that. regardless of how many others may or may not have upgraded.

I would like to clear up the confusion on my two web sites, workhorsepainting.com and sobercert.com . I've had the painting web site for like 16 yrs several years before I came to CC. I've been giving out my novelty sobriety certificates and other novelty documents to online recovery people for about 18 yrs. I gave a wonderful person award to Inger awhile back. Several years ago I bought the sobercert domain name and have been thinking about making a site for it. I finally started the site recently by using my painting site as a template. When I published the home pg for the certificate site it mistakenly went to the painting site domain, that was a mistake. Subsequently I sent the following publishing's to the correct domain. I have not yet fixed the mistake so the wrong index pg is still up on the workhorsepainting domain. So the painting site has a little bit of certificate site in it and the certificate site has alot of painting in it. As I complete the certificate site less of it will be shared with the painting site. I know that this is the wrong way to go about it but I am 72 and do not paint any longer and I give the certs away so this is not a hyper critical issue. I plan to eventually start selling the certs, people love them when I give them away but if I talk about charging for them then they start hating them such is the delima

Confused or not, Greg the thing is You should have set a no-inxex,, no-follow statement to stop the search engines from displaying your site,
or
alternatively, make each website "under Development, single page with a simple heading a short paragraph and a butto or text link to a simple registration form so that they can recieve information when the websites are ready and fully developed, and leave the page as indexable and links followable

that way the search engines will keep indexing your websites, and as you develop them, they will love it because they simply love websites that are regularily updated, you will start to get visitors who may even register their interest both for when your site is ready or even to ask about more details for a quote or a price etc etc.

I can help with a simple "under-development" page Actually although it looks simple it isn't that simple as far as designing and developing it is concerened, I will put an example up on one of my testing sites, but it will be a couple of days more, our new baby girl is 6 months old now, I have just finished building a playroom for her and an enclosed backyard as an outdoor play area, i need a short break too, so we are off to Bali for a few days to visit my other 2 adopted children who are now 22 and 16 years old now, they are dying to see their little sister.

Yesterday, when I wrote my previous comment, I checked sobercert.com but didn't find any content, so clearly you must have uploaded it since I took a peek.
I'm sure it will look better when you get those two different services separated. For sobercert.com, I suggest you display samples of the documents you create, not just list them. I also recommend that you take a good look at the colour scheme you are using. I'm sure Wayan is well placed to advise you on that.
