Is there any benefit to having links in a footer of a webpage as shown on here?

Does it help with ranking on Google and Bing etc? Does the spider like that there are more links, or would it just be the same if they weren't there?

I think Google is smart enough to see the links a being repetitious and unneeded. It's one thing if their there because of main navigation being flash.

I'm not sure if you changed the page or not, but if not, the way it looks right now with the footer menu there is typical and definitely not repetitious to Google or other search engines. If there was something else there before then.. well ignore my comment lol :)

Nothing to do with SEO, but....
If your top nav is images instead of text, you should have a plain text alternative. Also, on responsive sites, if there's a lot of content on a page, it can be quite a long scroll when it goes to a one column layout. So a footer menu can be a convenience (as well as back to top buttons).
You can also tuck things into a footer menu that don't need to be prominent in the main nav (disclaimers, legal notices, sitemap, etc.).

Them being there is fine if the page is long so you don't have to scroll back to top. I see the page is responsive so it might be best if on a mobile device if the scrolling is excessive.

Just saying that Google doesn't count it against you for having a footer menu is all I'm saying, I do agree that it's not really necessary if all the pages of a site are short and sweet though, but for the most part it's typical to include a footer menu and it's not counted against you in Google. Just that it may not really be necessary for the most part is all :)

Just as Paintbrush mentions images as menu buttons, the same goes for flash menus, for those of you who still have those.
