:( I was greatly disappointed to find that the visual (wysiwyg) editor has been removed from the latest release.

I use it most of the time, and then use the source (html) editor for fine tuning.

It has actually been removed for the last 2 releases Roben. ;)

Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to the program's Visual Editor. Over the years it had relied on controls that Microsoft had built into Windows but has been gradually discontinuing support for. In order to make the Visual Editor compatible with the new and important HTML5 web standards, we would need to research and develop a new way to program it — precious time that we'd rather devote to refining our beloved code editor.

We feel strongly about using the instant preview options when dealing with code. The split-screen preview shows changes on-screen as you make them, and the external preview can be open at all times in a different window (which is great if you use a second monitor). Try them! We're confident that you'll find these preview options just as useful as working with the visual editor.

Learn the essentials with these quick tips for Responsive Site Designer, Responsive Email Designer, Foundation Framer, and the new Bootstrap Builder. You'll be making awesome, code-free responsive websites and newsletters like a boss.

Roben,

Trust me when I say that the new updates far out-way the need for a visual editor. They allow you to see changes right away with the new Preview pane, and the ability to click in the preview pane and automatically be taken to the code corresponding with where you clicked and also when clicking in the code area it will highlight the corresponding area in the preview pane. :D

A lot more changes are coming, and it will be well worth it! :D

Much as I agree with both Scott and SirAGE, they are commenting both on the preview which has absolutely nothing to do with the actual building of the website in visual which you cannot do with the preview window, and the preview window new features will not help anyone that doesn't know HTML...
Fine tuning is about all most that don't know HTML can do with code, but building is not the same for those that don't have that knowledge to start with.

Roben, you need to change to Visual Site Designer as that's what that was created for. Basically it's a replacement and more for the HTML Editor visual tab and although it doesn't have the ability for the fine tuning that you did in the HTML Editor, in most cases you don't ever need that. It can accept outside code for HTML and Javascript and more and has all the features you may need for building a site.

Give VSD a trial run, I think it's 30 days for that one, but I don't recall off hand and see if that will help. It has a lot more features than the visual tab of the HTML Editor ever had and then some.

Good luck with it and although I'm sorry that you're upset, I'm very much not sorry that the visual tab is gone from the HTML Editor. Those of us that code our sites (which is what the HTML Editor is for) have a lot more new features because of that being removed so it was a most welcome change to most users.
