I haven't been here for a while and I can see it was a good holiday - people falling asleep over their coffee mugs (should that be "cups?"
I get bored with reading a load of words on small devices. It occurs to me to make a video and put that in one of my pages, thus cutting out a lot of text. With the trend in responsive design I wonder how CC Video Player is set up for tablets and mobiles. Has anyone tried it yet?

Being a flash app I think most will avoid it because of all the apple devices you would have to do something else for and that would work on the other devices anyways.

I would say - watch this space.

It's going to be a very RWD year at Coffeecup and the move away from Flash with forms (and now responsive forms) may well mean that other popular flash based apps are going to receive a make-over.

While I'm no fan of Apple and their attempts to control the user experience so tightly, it's a fact of life that iPhones, iPads and iPods are everywhere and there seems to be no chance that Apple will allow Adobe Flash to run on their devices any time soon.

Given that the world is also full of Android smart phones and tablets too, as well as devices running Windows mobile and other platforms that do run flash, you could make a video part of your RWD approach and have it run for smaller screen sizes.

But the whole idea of rwd is to take advantage of the fact that you can change the layout to suit the device viewing your site, so for smaller devices, use styles that keep it simple with easy navigation and smaller and fewer graphics and text, while still getting your message across etc.

I dipped my toe into some tutorials on Lynda.com about HTML5 video. It appears to be possible now, but with the proviso that you remember to go back to our old friends the browser workarounds and there appear to be three. Being an iPad/iPhone owner, naturally I am part of a big audience. The crazy thing is Flash works on my iOS Mac Book - I cannot understand Apple at times.
