It would be nice if we could have discussions on various aspects of SEO like meta tags, keywords, link building etc at this forum.

You can have such discussions in the 'Website Design and Development' and 'Breakroom' forums. The former is possibly better than the latter. What we don't want, is people advertising and spamming, but good ideas are always welcome.

SEO is a completely different subject to 'Website Design and Development'.
Design and development is purely to create looks and functionality within a given website whereas SEO or search engine optimisation to those who are less aware of the subject is a marketing subject with promotion creating exposure online being the foremost priority in the topic.

Rarely will you find a web designer who fully understands the SEO process which is why SEO consultancy has become a stand alone career for many.

It would also benefit this forum to have a section on this subject and as for spam this should be dealt with according to the quality of the information added to the subject in question, if an SEO companies are involved then authorities will evolve and people on here who use the software will gain a valuable resource to draw upon in their mission to promote there websites.

I hope this opens up the discussion on SEO.

Well since this is the suggestion thread for new programs, SEO doesn't really fit here, but lets start one up in the Website Design & Development area since that would be the most practical area for the subject as we don't have an SEO section. If you'd like to get one started sjacobs3 please do so, it's one of my worst nightmares and I myself would love the assistance. I posted about it a while ago, but unfortunately there's not a lot of people wanting to delve into that topic. I think it's such a broad and encompassing field that many don't want to get into. Not sure, but I'd love the addition of a good discussion area for that myself too

SEO is part of the development process. How many in marketing understand the proper coding procedures for web development. Also, is not functionality in part the result of proper placement on the world wide web?
