Sounds like you need a new computer there Prism not just a stick of ram. If you only have that much ram, then that says a lot about how slow and old the computer you are using is too :P

Hmm!Jo you would be surprised. But then I do not do games. I have a fast Graphics card that does the hard work. Viv Buddy out of interest I found this. I downloaded the free version to try. 50 euro full version but seems to do what you want. I will fiddle with the free version and see what gives.

Well Viv i think this will do what you want. It would appear that you take pictures of the object you wish to rotate say up to one every 6 to 10 degrees to give a smooth result. I would say mount the ring so you can take those pictures on a rotating disk to get a full 360 view. I tried quickly dumping a whole swag of photos in and it works like a slide show. needs some more inspection but I would advise you get the free version and give it a try. If I were selling physical product it sure does the trick but basically it is just a slide show device any flash could possibly do it it does need about 60 pictures to get a good result. POV Possistance of Vision Still investigating.

Viv,

If you are patient with learning and willing to go the Linux route, you could use the Blender freeware suite. See http://www.blender.org/

As you might imagine, general 3-D model and scenario creation, with lighting effects and animation, is a big topic. It's a way of life for some. For instance, see this movie: http://www.bigbuckbunny.org/index.php/trailer-page/

Xara 3D has some nice 3D image software, but I am not sure how it imports other images. I've used it to make textual things that were built into the program and it worked awesome, but I'm sure you can import your own things too. http://www.xara.com/uk/
