Thanks for the suggestions. #2 and #3 you can do now. Just click on the Page column and the data will sort.

I just downloaded the new version 5.3 build 225 thanks!

I'd like the ability to rearrange the order of the urls. for instance, I'd like my index to display above my contact pages and above folders on the root. can this feature be included?

I have edited the html sitemap to display how i want.

thanks

Probably not. The software is designed to mimic the layout of your Website. Re-organizing the pages manually sort of defeats the purpose of the software. If you want things in a different order, you really should make those changes online.

As you already know Scott, I would side with James here. You can't really "reorganize" your site when you're using things like Shopping Cart Creator and it doesn't organize things according to the categories of the shop so it's pretty strange. It lists all the top level pages (this includes all the categories) and then lists all the product pages. I am not sure how others do it, but for me it seems that it should put each of the products under their respective categories instead of the mess it creates with a ton of products with no structure. That's why I change mine too. The rest for me works great and I agree 100% with your suggestion to move your pages around how you want them to be structured, but the shop don't work that way unfortunately.

Hello CoffeeCup,

I’ve been working with SiteMapper for a couple of days now and have had some mixed experiences with the software.

I have yet to get through an entire crawl of my website without the software locking up requiring a restart of the software. I have excluded numerous url’s and queries which has helped but I have still not been able to complete a scan to see how the rest of the functionality of the software works. Understandably this software is more than likely designed with smaller sites in mind but I would love to get it to work for my needs.

Suggestions:

1.) Exclude url’s with designated characters/text.

It is certainly useful to exclude certain queries but would it be possible to exclude url’s that contain any designated characters/text? Example, your bot continues to pull up numerous url’s that contain the following: &rating, &join, etc… I understand this is part due to the design of my website but it would be extremely useful to be able to eliminate url’s that contained certain characters/text; especially if I ever plan to use the automated scheduler feature.

Thank You for your time.

Can there be an option to add the facility to open links in a new window? I use SiteSpinner to build all my websites and in order to get the sitemapper to display on an SS page I need to call it up in an iframe. But currently when the visitor clicks a link to a page, the new page opens in the iframe.

OK....so I can probably edit all the HTML lines to add target="_blank" in each link but that would be a PITA, especially when remapping.

Thanks.

David, try target="_top" or target="_parent"

It will open the page in the same window but escape the iframe. You would still need to add it to each link, though.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

I think he's wanting to not have to do any text editing at all of the code Tom, at least that's the impression I get is that he wants it built into the Sitemapper program so that he doesn't have to do it every time he makes a site map. Makes sense, but it is an easy thing to edit as you can pretty much edit all the links in a mass find/replace. But I see the point of not wanting to have to do that every sitemap.

I am sure we can easily add that in a future version.
