I have a daughter who wants to play a little with making a web site. Which is easier to use RSD or FF as a drag-and-drop tool to create headers, menus, some pages, etc? I may eventually teach her some HTML but I'm looking for something WYSIWYG with the ability to add in a few features (with my help if needed) such as a gallery/slide show, etc.
I'm not a developer either but I know enough to be dangerous and follow instructions.
Thanks,
Don

Hello From Deepest Darkest Jave,
Not really an easy answer both RSD & FF are great for doing exactly what you want to get your daughter going, the three main differences, are FF uses Bootstrap framework & CC wireframe thingies for building the layout and works from mobile size UPWARDS (RSD can work both up from mobile sizes to desktop, or from desktop down) FF has some really cool built in components, like drop down menu buttons, responsive menu buttons, full screen modals and a few more, which makes giving a web-site that extra bit of PHZZZZAZ a breeze,
For us oldies who were brought up in the days of fixed width designs, working from "Mobile Up"takes a bit of getting used to in terms of thinking about the design, planning the layout and other stuff, but once that initial learning curve is over with it becomes amazingly clear and easy. your daughter being sort of new to it , and not having any pre-conceptions or stick in the mud ways would probably be able to take to that way like a duck to water.
RSD can work both ways up or down as I have mentioned, it doesn't have the components (yet) available for that extra bit of FIZZ but there are lots of add on's that you can get (Freebies) from the cyber shopping space, which can be placed into RSD (mega-menu's modals and tons of other stuff) but it requires a bit more fiddling about, which again could be useful experience for your daughter as well. There are a lot more finished, working templates in RSD than FF, which may be useful again in dissecting how the things are put together and for giving great ideas, but too easy to use them as crutches and turning out something that looks like the millions of other template built sites (not important at this stage, but not really educational also)
Personally, now that I am in the groove for FF that is the only way for me, and the others are just sitting there gathering cyber-space dust (except yesterday I used RLMP for something, took me a good 2 hours just to get back into how the thing works, but thats another story).
There is great support from CC (as always) and from other users on this forum for both applications if you get really stuck,
hope that hasn't confused the issue more for you,
Welcome to your daughter to the wonderful world of web-design, it's a great place to be.
Take care everyone and have a great day wherever in the world you all are
