HI there! I've purchased the latest SD V3 and am very excited to start. I watched a few of the help videos that were associated with SD, but I really need something that starts at the very beginning. For an absolute newbie!
Is there a SD for Dummies somewhere? Or a forum that starts with opening the program? Ha!
I appreciate it!

Hi Kristen. I was new to CoffeeCup about 2 months ago. Yes the learning curve is steep but keep going at it as it's very rewarding. My advice to you as well as the good comments above, I would load a template and just have a good experiment changing the styles, the layout, learn what happens when you do this and that approach. Don't be afraid to ask questions on here, everyone is very helpful and encouraging. Enjoy!
Kristen, I would start with the link Adrian mentions. It is more or less the same as Steve's third link, but with Adrian's you get a bit of theory along with the videos.
Then, when you are able to get a page built, with some contents, you can proceed with the other videos. Don't despair when watching the demo video, it's much too fast to follow, and is just meant as a teaser.
And starting with a ready-made theme is also a good approach.

I would suggest the you use the HELP function at the top of Site Designer's menu bar and select the Site Designer User Guide. It is a very well done tutorial, that will walk you step-by-step in the process. There are also several TIPS in the Site Designer Tips (also in the HELP dropdown). Experimentation is the best teacher, but the basics are in the tutorial.
So I've got a couple of hours on a plane on Friday... and that would be a great time to start playing with SD v3.
Are there downloadable video files available? I'm not going to be able to stream video on the plane. Ditto the "Site Designer User Guide". Alas, connectivity is not all pervasive!

Sorry Charles there isnt anything downloadable. I think there are some free online apps out there that will convert youtube videos to MP4 and allow you to save them on your computer.

Thank you all so much!! I'm certain to have more questions, but for now here are a few more:
Where can I find the components?
And do I need to purchase/add anything to be able to build a photo gallery or slider?

There is no components as of yet. Coffeecup promises to add them either for purchase or maybe a set for free. Not sure the lid is a bit tight on that jar.
