When is RSD moving to support...

It's been a while now since Bootstrap upgraded to V4, so long they've had time to upgrade it further to 41, and note needed changes / bug fixes soon will be available in 4.1.1 So when will the "flagship product" be upgraded / updated to V4? Can't see much reason to buy it at this stage,

"backward compatibility" is one thing, but it's almost like telling a 35yo adult, who was once taught to swim, as a two-year-old, that he still can't swim with other adults and must continue wearing his water-wings when he goes in the pool.

BS4 is supposed to be included in V3.

actually, that can't be the case, and it certainly isn't "marketed" as such -- the "advertisement" for it says "B4 alpha" -- not the official V4 release of Bootstrap, and therefore not with any bug fixes from the alpha release, by definition, and certainly not the latest 4.1.

So, back to the question I was asking... ?

You should ask your question to CoffeeCup not to volunteer helpers who contribute and run this forum and give their time freely not needing sarcastic responses.

Thank you for your support and understanding, Russel B.

What I said in my previous reply in this thread, was information I got from Bob just yesterday. I'm not employed by CC, if I want to know something, I ask them.

Thank you, Inger, but sadly you were given what's called in our Western Hemisphere vernacular a "bum steer",

what I was doing was citing the CC advertising --- accessible via the same top menu as used to get access to the forums.
and my post was not directed "at you" though for some reason you chose to respond

doesn't CC itself monitor these questions, and provide "official" responses, accessible to all, so that people "know what they're getting" (or in this case what they are NOT getting) ???
It is after all the channel, the public channel, for users, and potential purchasers, of CC products.

The RSD advertising you are referring to, was written quite some time ago, maybe as early as when V2.0 was launched, I don't know. At the time being the current version of RSD has support for BS4 beta. There is AFAIK no advertising for V3 yet, so unless someone at CC has told you, you don't really know what BS version it is going to have support for. My reply was an attempt of being helpful. If the stable 4.0 is included at the first launch, I bet a pound to a penny that there will be updates, but without knowing how much time it takes to change from one BS version to the next in a CC app, I wouldn't even start guessing how long you will have to wait.

One thing I have noticed, mainly by Foundation, but it will be the same for BS, is that if a class hasn't yet made it into RSD, you can still use it, because the browsers will know how to display something with that class name.

Hi Russell.

I understand your frustration from a user standpoint, and I'm sure that Inger, Russell B and others here do too. Once you are here for awhile, though, you'll find out that CC support is pretty amazing compared to many other companies. Here are a few things that you probably already know, but I'll mention them just in case they are helpful.

There are 3 sources of information that have been mentioned in this thread.

Web Site: The web site will only display the BS4 version for the current software. It doesn't show the upcoming releases for obvious reasons. When RSD 3 is released, I expect the web site will be updated to match it.

Support Room: CC provides a Support Room (accessible on the top right drop-down under the user name) for users with registered accounts. (I'm sure you already know this.) This gives you personal support which is something most companies don't provide without a cost to the user.

Forums: The forums are first and foremost a way for CC users to help one another. There are some users who are long-time CC software users and spend time in the forums to provide help. Inger has been around for quite some time and provides very good answers. The information was from Bob Visser (COO -- see https://www.coffeecup.com/about/). Therefore, its good info.

As far as CC monitoring the forums, I don't mind them not always being here. I'd rather have them spending their time and resources on ongoing development of the software.

Hey there Inger, Russell B, Brian and Adrian, thanks for your continued support and help in these Forums. I am impressed by the calm and factual tone you all displayed in response to the indeed (unnecessary) sarcastic post. Personally I not inclined to respond to posts like that — as you all know we are a small time trying to make great and affordable software that many rely on for their business and as Brian pointed out, I rather focus on that than being dragged into snarky arguments.

I can confirm that RSD V3 will ship the latest release version of Bootstrap 4....as well as with the latest release version of Foundation, as well as with Materialize (beta) — both of which I would choose over Bootstrap.
