Hey there, I am total newbie with site designer.

I create a website with a custom menu and for some reason every single time I save it, it goes into this preview mode and all my changes wash away. I open page up with file saved and all changes are gone. Program will go into preview mode as well willy nilly and all adjustments grey out for no reason. So very frustrating. Seems my changes preview just fine in Brave but messed up in google. Cannot seem to figure it out. Also cannot seem to get a picture to act as a link either.

Any help would be great.

Start way over to the right at the first breakpoint position
go to the tab on the top of the page
'TOGGLE BREAKPOINTS

open it and select 'DEFAULT MODE'

you will then see the breakpoint indicator have changed colour a little bit, you then style the menu down and apply your styling as you want until you reach past the lowest breakpoint

save it

Preview It locally on on the browser.

That should have solved it

You ALWAYS need check which setting the TOGGLE BREAKPOINTS is set to. for a project file . The one time you can use 'DiISABLE ALL BREAKPOINTS' is when you can apply your styling without needing them (as can be achieved in some cases by using 'flex'

OOOHby the way which version of Site Designer are you using,,

I just noticed on the screenshot that the right hand panel seems to have a greuy overlay,
That could indicate a bad install, you could try uninstalling an re-installing first
If that doesn't
solve the issue than could you please upload the project file (Zipped) and I can check it out om my machine

You need to have inserted a 'picture link into the canvas, if you want to add a link
if it is already a link go to the 'Element' tab top right and there you will see the HREF box which you then put the link address for the image.

Just in case (and for anyone else who may be interested or following this thread) I have made a quick demo, showing how to do the layout without any breakpoints, and adding the HREF to the image link

Using Site Designer 5.0 Build 3536

I have uninstalled and reinstalled site designer and it keeps randomly greying out the settings panel and has red line under preview. When I click preview all my changes go away but settings panel reappears even when I save the changes. I have the latest updates on a windows 11 machine and it still does it.

Will try to insert picture link again.
