Hi All
Does anyone have any examples of how to set up a form and email the results in RSD without using Web form Builder?

Alternatively, How can I design form in WFB that has two columns of fields each 50% of the width with
a) left column has 3 fields one line high (name, phone, email) and the right column has 1 field a text area the same height as the 3 fields in the left column. the top of the fields in the left & right column should align.

Cheers

Hi Peter,

You cannot do webforms by default in RSD. Unless you know how to manually code an entire webform along with all the css, javascripts, and much much more the best tool would be Web Form Builder. There are some other free online web forms but they are loaded with advertisements and very very difficult to manage.

Question? Why don't you want to use Web Form Builder? Its a great tool and saves 100s of hours manually coding a form.

You can control the width, but not the height of the fields. Therefore, I don't believe you can do what you are trying to do. However, play around with the design. Experiment a bit and see if you can't find an alternative look is just as good. Start by asking yourself why the form has to be so precise in its layout.

Did you know that Web Form Builder can be used for both simple and complicated forms and that it's not limited to the default fonts and buttons? Take a look at a form we developed for WindowTinting.com.

Hi Brian & Steve

Thx for your input. Believe me I have spent many hours trying to find a way to do the design I outlined, but am stumped.

Why this design - it's all about asking for minimal info from users front, but asking enough to be meaningful & credible from their perspective.

The design limitations of WFB are really annoying - the big fixed margins, and limited content layout options.

I think my next exercise will be to get into the css & html files output by WFB and try to edit them manually to get what I want. If nothing else, I'll no doubt learn something.

Thx very much for assistance & guidance.

Cheers

Are you using the Responsive Themes for WFB Peter? If not you should really get them, they are fluid not fixed. The flexibility of WFB is insane! Not sure exactly what you are needing help with. What other content options do you need?

Trying to edit WFB out once you have exported would be a nightmare. Every time you make any change at all in WFB you would have to redo all your code customizations.

If there is anything specific that you need let us know and we can point you in the right direction.
