Using a Search Box Element - Post ID...
Using Site Designer 5 [or, trying to] ... Can I put a Search Box [form] element into my project and have it work "out of the box"? Or, do I need to purchase the Form Designer or Web Form Builder? It would just be to index my site for user convenience. I wouldn't expect that I will have any great need for forms in the future, so I'd hate to spend money for that. I had been using the free version of Site Search, but I don't know if their service works anymore... I get zero search results no matter what I enter, so I would like something new.

Google used to have one, not sure it still has, and with just a little bit of tweeking it can be made to just search your site, I will see if I still have the code somewhere

Do a google search
google search embed on my website
There are plenty of results
Apparently still available and customizable nowadays
works with an HTML element no need for a form

I have the Google search box on a page here: https://eikweb.com/sharing/ , In the Navigation section, find 'Fixed-header-dropdown-nav (right column). There is an explanation below the image, and in the download file you find further instructions.
Mind you, this has been made with Foundation. I don't remember which framework you are using, but at least the search box is independent of frameworks
