Regarding the subscription, $69/year for "Software updates, support, free templates and any other great things we may come up" is actually a great deal. Compare that to Adobe... Dreamweaver is over $240/year.

Did you know that Web Form Builder can be used for both simple and complicated forms and that it's not limited to the default fonts and buttons? Take a look at a form we developed for WindowTinting.com.

The date December 20 2020 is exactly a year from today (CET), and it means that the license period was started today. I know this because I also had an app (RED) that needed a validation. It was done today, and I got exactly the same date. You must have had an earlier end date from before.

The previous licence date was June 2020 so was still valid. The app still doesn't keep that date somewhere so one still gets the 3 days time limit

Here is an idea
You get a notification that there is an update available (mind you we don't seem to get a clue or information regarding what the update has to offer)
So you hop along to your "my purchases" section, sure enough there it is, so you download it.

Once downloaded, you hit "install"

option1/ AT THAT POINT the installer checks the subscription & validates it as being OK so it installs. Thereafter one should be able to open the App at any time, whether on-line or off-line

optiom2/ AT THAT POINT the installer checks the subscription and sees it's not valid, so it doesn't install, tells the user why (subscription out of date or not valid or the user is not subscribed) and informs the user what to do and closes.

In my simple mind that should be how it works or am I suggesting something too difficult ir complicated to implement.

Yes but I only have to go online once a month to keep my subscription for Dreamweaver validated, not every 3 days

I would respectively say that there should be far, far more templates available. It would only help sales. Byt this point, I would have expected a hundred or so templates, free full price or even discounted.

There seem to be various matters being discussed -
1. pricing;
2. policing against the use of pirated copies;
3. language.

Regarding language, I think the use of the word 'subscription' may be unfortunate. For many people it suggests that one can no longer use the software if the 'subscription' expires, whereas that is not intended to be the case with CoffeeCup. At least one other company uses the words 'upgrade insurance', which might more accurately convey what CoffeeCup means by 'subscription'.

The above situation seems compounded by the policing system also being tied to the so-called 'subscription'. The intention seems to be to check whether one is entitled to be using the current version of the program at all, rather than whether one has 'upgrade insurance'.

The big issues seem to me -
(a) how to overcome the situation of failed internet access, such as experienced by Wayan and Adrian, without losing protection against the use of pirated copies;
(b) how best to word things, as clearly the word 'subscription' has led to considerable misunderstanding, and can hardly help sales of the program - and the more people that buy it should mean that the price can remain lower than would otherwise be the case.

Not sure what that has to do with not being able to use site designer without internet access. Personally I don't use templates at all I'm a designer I do my own designs well I would if I had internet without having to go to the internet cafe

I for one don't care about the price 6, 60 ,600 dollars makes no difference, I don't care about what they call it all I would like to be able to do is use it at anytime I need without the need to have internet, or at least more than 3days before it stops working. Shouldn't be this difficult to achieve or to get people to understand
