Visual lightbox had a great lightbox type gallery but they integrated it into a web editor. Does anybody know of another lightbox gallery?

Thanks all,

Byron

Hi Byron

I have a step by step video tutorial (email me if you are interested)

I also believe Inger has a component in her sharing folder thingy, which is similat too.

Yea they are very nice Wayan,

Just keep in mind if you use one of those you will have to make sure you size all your images appropriately and make sure they are all the same size. Its also part of the reason I don't use these components because it takes so much time to edit. If you use the Visual Lightbox it does all the resizing for you instantly even if you have 100's of images. I can't count the hours VLB saved me.

No you don't need all same size or aspect ratio with my version. Pick and Mix and just like the old Woolies counter when I was a boy

Actually at the end of the day it's up to Byron whichever way he decides is ok by me, learn how to make something individual by following a step by step tutorial or two (I call it 'learning by doing') as he and I have done together a few times now in the past, or join the crowd and have just another brick in the VLB wall, personally I prefer to create my own thing whenever I can, rather than using ready made components or things that other people have done I do acknowledge the time saving factor that ready made components and app thingies have but even so 'not for me'.

Oh yea for sure. I guess this is ok if your only doing your own website. When you manage over 150 websites there isn't enough time in a day to create 150 component thumbnail galleries. Like always it depends on your use case.

I do my resize with Photoshop batch action takes about 2 minutes to resize around 100 images and loads them to a file which I then place into site designer and insert the resized images into a container all ready prepared altogether takes about 10 mins and overall a complete image gallery about an hour. Windows 10 and 11 also have a batch
image resizer not quite as good as Photoshop but good enough for most purposes
All in all about 10 minutes.
I manage over 450 websites not just my own
Byron tried to do something with the lightbox thing , now following step by step tutorials learning how to make one on his own using site designer.

Anyway Steve at the end of the day Byron asked for help because he was struggling with a lightbox thumbnail gallery to get it into site designer, I offered an alternative way for to do it without using any third party application, your reply was not really helpful to him regarding getting the job done. He decided to go for learning how to make something similar just using site designer, no problems for me whichever way he decided to go, the final part of the tutorials I am doing for him will be later today so he will be able to follow and learn how to do it. At the moment nobody else has come up with a solution to help him with his original problem and the help he was looking for
