I am designing a new site with multiple pages and want to use the symbol function to make changes to header footer navigation easier in the long run in case I miss something out. Where do I learn about how to add and use the symbol?

I've added Symbols to several pages but now need to have one page without the Symbols. If I remove a Symbol from that page will it also be removed from other pages?

Do you want to REMOVE the element that is a symbol (as in delete) on the page
or
Remove the link to the symbols for that page (in other words keep the element that was a symbol just not linked, (so you can make changes)

It doesn't really matter which one because either removing the element (deleting) or removing the link doesn't effect the other pages with the symbol elements, just a different way of doing it of course

What I do when I am not too sure what the effect for any change will be is
1/ save the project before doing a change
2/ do the change
2.A/ if it doesn't work correctly the (change messes up the layout for example) then close the project without saving the changes, then re-open it (which obviously opens as it was before you did the change)
2B/ if it does work and doesn't cock stuff up, then do a save and continue as normal

Thanks Wayan. I think I can forge ahead now with your suggestions. Basically, what I need to do on one page only, is remove the Symbol from that page but leave it on other pages. So looks like I will unlink it on the one page but leave the Element in place with the slight change to the navigation. WOW, that doesn't make much sense does it. Thinks I've been at this too long today.

sort of makes sense, just remove the link and you can make the changes without it effecting the other pages.

I have been at it too since 1:00am (mind you that's quite normal for me) and will probably still be at it up to 7:00pm
