Site Designer menu over image or...

I am trying to accomplish a task for someone that I am having great difficulty with. They pointed me to a website that has an image slide show that covers the entire page. I can accomplish that by using WOW Slider. The next part is the problem. They want the menu to display over the slide show (about half way down the slide show). I have created a menu within SD. I have tried using margins & padding on the navigation container to get it over the slide show. I have been able to move it around, but when it overlaps the slide show it must be behind it, because it is not visible.

I know this is possible because I have seen the site I was directed to. Is this beyond the capabilities of SD? Assistance would be appreciated.

Hi Phil
Even you can use one of the built-in sliders in SD to achieve a full-screen slide show thingy, I can't imagine what you are trying to achieve with the menu, especially when third-party slider mostly need to be placed in an html element
Unless I am misunderstanding completely.
Perhaps a link to the site where they have what you are trying to emulate would be helpful.

Phil I have been able to achieve something, where a container is over the slide show (I used the foundation "Orbit") which could hold menu link items)

Basically I placed a container in the main container of the Orbit, then I used transform to position it and gave the container a z index of 1010 (one could possible use position relative or absolute with the margins set to get the position you require

So with your set up try giving the container a very high Z index

Out of curiosity, where are the built-in-sliders in SD? I have searched the elements and have found nothing. The closest thing I see is the Video Platform. ???

You can pick the orbit slider I have in my sharing folder. Url is in my signature, choose the Galleries menu item.

Yes I see it now and that effect can be achieved using orbit
I also have Orbit as a component which has a fade effect which isn't standard with orbit (using some custom CSS (very tiny amount of CSS so not a heavy load)

Thanks for your help. I located and downloaded the orbit slider. In SD I am using Bootstrap, and there is a components icon at the top center. When I click on components it opens a window, similar to the resources window. At the bottom is a button to get more components, which takes you to the CoffeeCup site and the page says components are coming soon. I also tried to drag and drop the orbit download into the components box but could not do so. Am I missing something?
