Yes, that was my point. We need to ask what version the people are using before we touch their files.

Sorry, Inger, I am a bit confused
We need to ask what version the people are using before we touch their files.

Hasn't that always been the case ? not necessarily because of backward compatibility, bur forward compatibility

You tried open a file with SD v3 made with SDv3.5 and it wouldn't let you, hasn't that always been the case? with any versions old & new

Not always. It was so from RSD1.5 to RSD2, but not from 2 to 2.5, as far as I can remember.

Sorry again I have been up since the wee hour so I might be a bit foggy brain wise it;s the
So it looks like version 3.5 is not backwards compatible.

that is throwing me
so what you are saying is that sdv3,5 won't open earlier versions except for sdv3 project files

I may have expressed myself in a wrong way. What I mean is, that it is not possible to open a 3.5 project in 3.0. Open an older project in a new app version is ok, but if someone who is still using SD3 is sending you a file to have it fixed, you will probably fix it with SD3.5 and send it back. The file owner will then not be able to open the file.

Yes thats always been like that though, take the problems we had with M from Colorado using v1,5 would have been easy to fix for her but then she couldn't open the fixed file without updating

Hi Inger
I just like to add a suggestion to put in the future SD box
I would find it really useful to have a grid overlay or visual guide for aligning elements (nothing to do with the CSS Grid). Some element are a custom size making it far more difficult to align with other elements, containers etc.
If you unclear as to what I mean, open a word document, go to view and tick the grid box.
I use this feature a great deal for setting out graphics. It’s included with Photoshop and Adobe Illustrater, Sketchup layout etc.
I would personally find this incredibly useful.
Thanks Tim

Put your suggestion to CC direct through your support room thingy they don't normally come onto this forum very often

(so the tab I suggested wasn't what you were after then)

One problem I have found so far is that one cannot link to a file that has been put into resources

I have a folder "Custom CSS that contains some stuff (from previous version os Site Designer) when I come to add another file into that folder it goes in OK but then one cannot do the link (well you can by entering the path manually )

I will report this to CC Gurus anybody else found this small issue?

I had to search for this post of yours as I think I have found something similar: On my sharing index page I have this sunrise pic at the top, and then all those programme logos to show which version I have made something for. So, wanted to do an update on that page, and in SD3.5 none of the images showed up, and when I checked the resources, I only saw greyed out files. Is this similar to what you are talking about?
