Hey guys,

I was getting ready to upgrade to v2 but a bit nervous about upward compatibility. Saw a couple of mentions in the forums but wanted to know if everyone is experiencing success with opening 1.5 projects in 2, are you able to work just as effective with the older files etc.

Thanks,

Byron

There will be no problems with any compatibility. Just open and save your project and you are good to go! :)

Hi I'm not support but I believe that the coffeegrinder thingy isn't there anymore,, UNLESS you import a project made previously in RSD 1.5, then it will appear,, BUT for all new projects in RSD V2 it isn't there only Foundation & Bootstrap

Interestingly Wayan if you have set Coffeegrinder as the default in version 1.5 (rather than use a theme) then version two automatically opens with a blank coffeegrinder grid. In other words, you don't have to import a blank from version 1.5. Weird but true.

It seems that RSD V2, when opening a RSD V1.5 file, reverses the PC first order from V1.5 into the Mobile first order of V2.
I made a simple file in V1.5 (1 row with 4 columns showing 1 column at small viewport and 2 columns at larger viewport) and in V2 it shows in reversed order (with 2 columns at small viewport and 1 column at larger viewport).

If this is standard behaviour it may force me to keep V1.5 for old projects.

That all depends. Was your RSD 1.5 project created with a Desktop Down or Mobile First layout? To find out, open that project in 1.5 and go to the Layout Pane and next to Grid, what does it say?

Nothing, just Navigator, then the Grid label , then the "Show 1 hidden items in this breakpoint" checkbox.
I started at a small viewport (350px) with 1 row; divided the column into 4 columns with 12 spans and added a container to each column. Then at viewport 480px changed spans for each column to 6. Saved it as a theme. It shows only as a Desktop Down Mode theme, but once loaded it does not show the Mode anywhere as far as I can see.

When I save a project with V1.5 and open it in V2.0 I expect it to look the same. It's not the case.

Not really following you on that one. I would have to see your project file to offer some suggestions.
