The easiest way to add more images would be to duplicate the 'thumbnail-cont.button' as many times as needed.

Well good luck with that too :/

Especially if your images are a different size and aspect ratio :D

It's no good producing a tool for non-code people if adjusting the parameters in the screens is so cryptic that it would be easier to find settings in code.

it's not often I have agreed with Steve in the past, but with this one, I totally agree

Was this the component you were thinking of, Wayan?

In the post above I first tried to attach the component, but somehow that didn't work, and I was not able to get rid of the word 'Attachment'.

I downloaded that first component from the dropbox link ok and that one is still difficult to work with unless you really really know your way around and can decypher the settings/what to change & how etc

I have also downloaded the second one and yes that's the one I was thinking of (I was on my phone before.

the new one is much easier but still requires a little bit of tweaking but not as complicated as the first one
but as you know I find making a gallery like that (or the first one much easier to use the "ORBIT" component

By the way STEVE how many images do you initially require?

I see what you mean by 'good luck', hehe! Definitely not a component for beginners. I have actually never used it, but I took a peek into it now. The one on my site is waaay easier.

I made up a variation of my gallery, just for the sake of it. The new version has a vertical thumbnail strip. I will add it to my site, but for anyone who would like a try, here it is:

GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE
(didn't see you had also done one with the same idea)

I just made the same Orbit as previous one but with vertical thumbs too

Thanks for the responses, I need to get back to looking at it. My flow was broken and it won’t be until next weekend (at the soonest) that I can get back to it.

Not sure about the number of images (6 to start with). After a fashion I did get the one I mentioned working but I suspect I’ve probably fudged it a little.

I find it difficult locating the parameters/settings that I need to change and often find myself changing a lot of things before finding the bits I need I then worry about the implications of all the other changes I’ve made. TBH the most successful way I’ve found to locate settings is to export the site then open the pages html in a text editor and locate it that way - then go back into rsd and find it (now I have a better idea of where it should be) - this all has me thinking it might be a better long term proposition to bite the bullet and code with ultra edit, I just think life is too short to be having to do that!

I’ll open up the laptop again next weekend and review options on a gallery....

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
