Portrait Images

Hello,

When adding a picture placeholder, there doesn't seem to be an option for portrait oriented images. I tried adding in an image and then rotated it -90 degrees, but noticed that the container doesn't stretch to fit the height. Can you recommend a better way to add portrait images?

Also, I noticed that when I add images to my resources, it automatically rotates portrait images into landscape/horizontal orientation.

Thank you for any help,
John

Hello John
Which Framework are you using, if you open the small dropdown there are sizes in there for portrait, but normally even if you choose landscape ratio a portrait image will show as a portrait
could be something in your project file

have you tried it with a new project file? and just insert an image to see if it still happens

It would have been nice to see you preview and rotate the screen between landscape and portrait to get the real effect of your settings.
Bootstrap 5 CSS Grid.

Landscape/Horizontal orientation has to be controlled by media queries so that movie may be delayed awhile.;)

There is no clear & present danger either imminent or back to the future for a movie of that type until then it's mission impossible 66

I'm wondering whether the pictures might perhaps be landscape ones which some program will view as portrait because of the EXIF information in them.

I would be inclined to make a copy of one of the portrait pictures and remove the EXIF information. In Windows Explorer that can be done by right-clicking on the file, choosing File Properties > Details, and at the foot of that panel clicking on 'Remove Properties and Personal Information'. If it then shows as landscape, I would correct it using an image program, and then see whether it goes correctly into SD4's Resources.

In my previous post I mentioned correcting the orientation using an image program. I have just noticed that in Windows Explorer it can be done directly by right clicking on the file name, and choosing 'Rotate right' or 'Rotate left'.
