Hi guys,

I'm new to coffeecup site designer (V5). Currently using webflow but getting annoyed paying monthly subscription. Are you happy with site designer, is the code clean? Would far prefer a one off payment... ??

Thanks for any comments.

So why not try the free trial for month it comes fully operational. That way you can see how you get on.
And start by learning to find your way around the app.
It is a bit of a steep learning curve but once mastered a great app for making web sites.
If you decide to try it out we are here to help you whenever and however you need. We are normal users of the software who volunteer our time and knowledge to help others when they are stuck.

Don't use the free trial period to try and make a full blown real site, use it to find your way around see what can and can't be done try a template or two and don't be shy to ask here for anything you need help with

Hi Jon,

For me it was the best investment. CC software has never let me down. With this software its kind of like a subscription however you don't have to worry about it stop working. You can see what the updates are and if you think its worth it you can choose to update. But if you decide what you got is enough you can continue to use as is.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all the reply. I was using responsive designer 2.5 so quite old. I took the plunge and upgraded to version 5.

Taken to it quite well. One thing I can't understand is I open a blank template and say just add a heading then export the code. I end up with 4 or 5 css files and a bunch of js files even though there is no real content. Surely this can't be right, I would only expect 1 css file like webflow creates.

Is this how ccsd works, when I upload that to my webserver and run page insights and gtmetrix I get warnings about unused/unnecessary css files and js files.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks John.

One thing you are doing wrong is looking under the hood too soon. Try to trust SD to take care of the code, those CSS , JS files are built in from founddation.

I would agree with Wayan here. Overall the code is clean and well received by Google. One thing I have noticed with a lot of my SD websites is that I am getting usability issues that text is too small or to close together. I wish they would be more specific, what text, where? Anyways if you need any help along the way feel free to post back.
