Line placement at one size, grid at...

The 12 row limit on grids is presenting a challenge, because I need 19 rows at the smallest screen width. Is it possible to have things in line placement at the narrowest width, but become grid layout on wider screens?

Grid Line Based Placement and Grid Area Based Placement are settings for elements that go into the grid rather than settings for the grid itself, although, of course, the grid needs the named areas set up for Grid Area Based Placement. My experiments show that an element put into a grid can switch between Line Based Placement and Grid Area Based Placement at different breakpoints.
