Dear All Forums users;

Important updates or upgrades at the creators let in itself very long wait and still no components for both foundation and bootstrap in Site Designer integrated in both products what the product really is worthless because you can just nothing with it. You should always design from the beginning and that is a waste of precious time what other competitors leave you only focus on the design because everything is like sections and components. I wonder why Coffeecup ever counteracts and the building but not in their latest

They just go on a theme buy a component library buy the product will cost you twice as much than all
I think we never are going to have to count on it that they still have a major upgrade going back with necessary major improvements such as components and sections.
We're going to have to make the components themselves because a sea of is a waste of time if you want to create a proper professional website.

Inger you know was started with components to make sure that you can continue but these go spread to all the components of Foundation and bootstrap and they fully releasing that anyone who purchased the programs of CC they can freely use.
Maybe a roadmap once how you can create more complex components such as all buildings blocks of Foundation 6. I have tried it already but you see very many deficits because the code inside it can not change your component
It comes to this link from foundation 6 the building blocks. https://foundation.zurb.com/building-blocks/ There you will find much more complex Baillie but is apparently impossible to get there to make a component as you a component in CC Site designer the code can not adjust what a great pity.
Is there anyone here that here once a foundation building block in code can design in Site designer as a stand-alone component?

Kind regards
Stephane

I have already done my part, I reckon, with nearly 80 building blocks, about 60 of them for SD3. Feel free to catch me up, Stefke! ;)

I have exactly 78 now, and 59 of them are for SD3. I also have a couple half-done.

I don't call them 'components', because they are not components yet. They are building blocks, and they only become components if they are made so, and stored in someone's own library (in the programme). Therefore there is also no such thing as a 'standalone' component (but CC could possibly create a feature enabling that).

My building blocks are 'projects' that can be downloaded by anyone, free of charge. The only limitation is that where I have used images (and they are all my own property), I ask you to change them out and use your own.
When you download one of those projects, it may in many cases be best to save them as a theme, then often there will be additional files or code/script that may get lost if you just save it as a component.

The URL is in my singature. I recently moved the sharing folder to a different location, so if someone had it bookmarked from before, they should check the new address

I have quite a few royalty free and free of charge photos. Do you want me to send you some? I can do "WeTransfer.com". It only needs an email address. Can I use the address on your honnig site, assuming you want them?

Hi Don,
Kind of you, but I don't think I need any other images. I like this bit of 'personal touch'. ;) I guess my images are not what people want to have on their own sites anyway.
Maybe I should have just left all the building blocks completely unstyled, but I'm thinking that they look much nicer with a bit of style and contents.

Stefke, how about yourself? You are calling people to some joint contribution here, so you should at least make a bit of your own work available to the community.

Inge,

I certainly want to do that and make my contribution to the forum, but I would like to have a step-by-step plan on how to design those complex foundation building blocks. If you give me one example of a complex building block to design with the steps then I can get started to make them all.

So a step-by-step plan, because sometimes it contains html, css and also js, ??but how do you do that.
Thank you in advance for designing an example for me in the foundation building blocks series in the "containers" series

Kind regards
Stephane

One step-by-step plan that can be used for all the building blocks is impossible to create. They are too different for that. And you can't expect anyone to sit down and write you such a plan for every single block.

In general I can only say:
Read through the html and css (and possibly js) before you start.
In most cases the code is written for desktop down at Foundation, so you need to 'turn it around'
Make sure you select the css, not the scss, unless you know your way around SASS.
Start by the outermost container, create it in SD3, add the class names from the css as you go.
If there are more than one 'outermost' container, make a wrapper container first, to put everything inside.
Also, if there are attributes, add them as you go.
Add the js (if any) to the page manager footer section. If there is a lot of js, a separate file may be better.
If there are css bits needing options that haven't been included in SD3 yet, add them in the page manager head section
Make sure you follow the code/scripts slavishly, any colour changes or other changes can be made when you first have got it working.

Homework for you:
In my sharing folder look up the two files 'Reveal card' and 'Flip card'. You can also find them among the Foundation building blocks. Download my source files and compare them to the code given at Foundation. Study them all, and try to replicate them. Then you can post the results. ;)
