What is the learning curve on RSD? Can you get a good handle on it in the 21 day trial period?
Depends on how quick you learn things

Ok so now the joviality is over here is more serios
It does of course depend on how quick you are at learning, but it also depends on what you know already, and how quickly you can let go of everything you know already and start again with a clear and open mind
So
If this is your first dip your toe into the water for responsive designs using felexible grid stuff, and your first venture into building a web-site, then believe it or not the learning curve will be shorter than it you have been doing stuff before (because you will stepping into the pool without pre-conceived ideas and fixed ways)
If you already have experience with design and fixed width site building, then I suggest you take yourself off to a remote island somewhere or the Himalayas, chill out, sit on the beach, or in the case of the Himalayas in your heated tent, and perform mind clearing ceremonies, chant mantra's, and try and forget all you know about the old way of doing things, come back with a clear mind, and have a get back right into the new way of doing things..
Don't try to produce a complete (or partially complete) real life web-site within the 21 days, use that time to learn all of the possibilities, (do make pages by all means but dummy site, dummy pages) don't be afraid to ask on this forum, if you get stuck, there will usually be someone who has also experienced the same things and frustrations you will inevitably encounter, and be able to point you in the right direction.
Consider Foundation Framer instead, (although not free trial) it is a bit more difficult to get into (so go to remote island or Himalayas for 10 days instead of 1 week) but it has a lot more going for it as far as really cool stuff to eventually make those stunning responsive web-sites, (well at the moment that is, possible some upgrade to RSD might pull some of those things in later)
Take care everybody wherever in the world you are & have a great day

This is what I was looking for. I started learn HTML when web site were just becoming a tool for business. Since then I have done a lot of different site and designs using HTML Editor and even used the VSD for a few sites.
I was not planning to sit down and design a complete site in the 21 days, but I was hoping to have a much better understanding of the functionality of RSD. I do have the time to sit and learn it as I am retired and the wife still works. I also realize that there is no HTML involved. I know I will need to try and clean that from my mind.
Thanks for your insight.

Hi again
It's not so much that you have to clean html completely from your mind, it's learning to accept (in the beginning, what RSD can do for you without questioning how, or going too deeply into the why, does it do it this way, or can I change the way it does this or that and trying to understand and don't even try tweeking it until you are very sure about what is hapenning
Just go with the flow, later as you become more used to it and the way it does things and maybe if you want to add extras, or do something not out of the box so to speak then you can start to go back to the HTML side CSS etc and tweek. to your hearts content,

Hi Wayne,
I have been reading lots of posts to help me move along, but have been stumped, until I just read your post. Your approach sounds like something I have not tried yet, "in the beginning, what RSD can do for you without questioning how, or going too deeply into the why, does it do it this way...". I think this has been my major hangup, trying to understand too in depth how and why, not JUST DOING IT. I will clear my mind and take this approach. Thanks, as this seems to make sense. I now have renewed my faith in learning RSD.

Hi Mark
Thank you, good luck, enjoy "just doing it" trust the software to do what you want it to do. (except for the occasional hiccup)

Opening the application and looking around didn't tell me very much (it was really different from my trusty CC's HTML Editor), so I started with one of CC's templates and began to fiddle with it. Click on something inside the page, then look at its characteristics on the right side. Move something and see what happens. Oh - and I read a TON of posts in this forum. It took me a few weeks before I had my first "aha!" moment. Eventually, I built a functional, if rather modest website (stalag17b.com). I've learned a lot of new things, but I also know I have only scratched the surface of RSD's capabilities.
Have fun,
Bill

If you aren't at all familiar with CSS, how padding & position works, etc., it may be harder to create a more intricate website design. But out of the box, with very little knowledge, practically anyone could create a website using RSD. It's just a matter of dragging and dropping.
Plus, there are some very handy tutorials on this site which are very easy to follow. You'll be up and running in no time flat.

3 WEEKS TO LEARN COFFEECUP, WHICH SHOULD BE MY PRIORITIES FIRST?
If I only had 3 weeks to learn the Coffeecup software, what would you recommend learning as first priorities?
I am in the midst of learning RSD but I am clueless whether to try out Foundation or Bootstrap as second priority and what ones of the others after that.
I am familiar with CSS and HTML. Also, with Dreamweaver I created a couple of websites in the past in a course. I am a bit slow at doing HTML but have the basic knowledge on how to markup etc. Used sliders, php, jquery etc.
Would love your suggestions, please. Even suggesting the first 3 or 4 to use would help me focus.
