Is RSD feasible for what I want to...
So, I've been learning how to use this program for the past weeks - and it's incredible. Simplistic and powerful. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger and buying the full version.
I'm building a political news/commentary website, and it looks fantastic so far, but, I have a couple of worries:
1. Considering that I will be adding new articles/stories a few times a day, the amount of sub-pages I will need will grow indefinitely. Does RSD have a limit on the number of pages your website can have? Can I have, say, hundreds to thousands of pages?
2. Does the quick publishing feature on RSD work if I'm not using CC as a web host? Is the hosting offered by CC any good?
3. This one isn't related to RSD, but it kind of ties in to what I'm asking about - when a web host tells you they offer "unlimited sub-domains", what they mean by that is an unlimited number of pages you can have internally within your website, right?
Thank you for any help.

1. There are page limits right now with RSD. Currently the max amount of pages is 50. Each release will increase the max amount of pages. Not sure if we will allow thousands, but hundreds I am sure.
2. Direct publishing only works with our hosting. For other servers, you need to export and upload.
3. Sub domains are web addresses. Www.domain.com or shop.domain.com for example. It does not have anything to do with content. Just the URL.

While RSD is limited in total pages for now, for a site that will be growing indefinitely, you can set up a database to hold your articles and use RSD to create the template that will be used to display the pages.
Design one page in RSD with a html element with a little php coding where the article title and body appear on the page. Add your articles to your mysql database. You will need to add a little more php code once you export. Then FTP it to your server and you now how a site that will accommodate as many articles as you can put in the database.
There are some other options as well that work better if you plan to have different layouts for different articles. There is even a way to do it without needing a database. Contact me (info below) if you'd like some help.

The number of pages you can have is determined by the storage space that you have on the server.
Subdomains do not have to do with the number of pages. Here's how subdomains work.
www.yourdomain.com
subdomain.yourdomain.com
Each subdomain functions as if it were a separate web site.

Did you know that Web Form Builder can be used for both simple and complicated forms and that it's not limited to the default fonts and buttons? Take a look at a form we developed for WindowTinting.com.

I have a site made with html editor. It is approximately 300 pages of materials related to 50 years of out high school class and each student. We have had this site up for close to 15 years.
We have been doing well but decided it was time for an update so I bought RSD. I had begun working with the initial release then when the update was announced I got the BETA which turned out to have a timer lockout. So I waited and waited for the update. Finally it came out last week and I got it. Every once in a while it crashes on saving and trashes to files and the work is lost as while as the saved file. I got around that by saving several versions and when it crashed and wiped out one saved file i could restore it with the other file. I only lost about a half hours work each time.
when I got 75 pages done a warning popped up telling me there is a limit to the page count of 75 pages. I have been happy until now with CC software but this is a deal breaker. Apparently these limits are designed into this software on purpose for some reason. Apparently I am going to have to discard six days of work and find another software supplier to redo the site. I have 150 people who are expecting a redone site soon.
I have been doing this site since the beginning. I hate to just abandon it because software doesn't work.
Are you going to come out with a version of RSD that is without limits? Or a way around it that actually does work?

Here is what I did, maybe it will work for you
I made my first 25 pages, then exported them to my html editor (dreamweaver) then in dreamweaver I created a new folder and called it "first-one" for want of a better description, I then moved the css , js, img, and images into that new folder (first-one) dreamweaver then updated the links for the pages automatically, I checked it out and everything worked fine.
I then went back and started a new project for my second 25 pages, exported then into my site, I did the same thing as last time this time calling the folder "second-one" and then moved the css, js etc into that folder, once again tested everything and it worked fine.
I then started another project for the last 15 pages, and exported them, This time calling the new folder (you guessed it) "third-one" moved those css, js etc into that one.
The site performed as it should have done had I been able at that time to do 65 pages all at once in one project.
I have even done it on other sites that I have done for one page at a time, where it would have taken the breakpoints beyond the 10 max (due to the complicated style and layout the client required) completely different to the other pages, and it works just fine
Maybe that is something you can try, anyway hope that you do find a solution one way or another
Take care and have a great day wherever in the world you are.

I guess you will find the answer to the current page limit in the posts above yours. Also, you can do what Brian suggests, to use a data base to hold the pages and build a template in RSD to call them.

Just create a new RSD project for every page of your site. Each will export an index.html. Rename and place in the approapriate folder on your server. No limits then.
If you import from RLM you can go over the page count but be careful - you can't add. But I made a 125+ site and had extra pages (quite a few) from RLM and it works (at least so far). Till I read about the the subdomains. Not that difficult a work around
