Inserting a new home page - Post ID...

Hi
I have Site Designer V5.
Although I write computer programming books (amongst others), I am certainly not a website designer.
I needed a website that would serve simple needs. Click on the the picture of a book and then jump to the appropriate page which contains the blurb, reviews and order details etc.
In the end, I opted for 'Kit & Kat' template on the opening template page of Site Designer. This seemed like a good idea, but I have 75 books, and the overall site looks ugly, but it is practical, and seems to work.
(brucesmith.info).
I now want to insert a new home page that is a little more elegant and I can update with information and include pictures of new projects and maybe best sellers etc on a regular basis. I am struggling!
Can anyone point me to videos that might show this or maybe suggest how best to achieve this...?
Thanks, Bruce

Hi Bruce
Go to the top left tab in your site designer project "page manager open it
There you will see a list of all your pages

Select the "index"
Give it a new name up to you what

Then at the bottom of the box is a blue button ' add new page

Hit that

It will give you a new page called blank

Close page manager "done"

Open it again and select blank

Give it a name index

Language = whatever you use (English Australian is an option) Londoner isn't :D:D

Select the use global box the others too
There you have it a new blank index page

That's how to add a new page

designing it is a whole different world

Hi again Bruce
I have thrown together an idea you might like for the homepage design and a page for the cards that display the books, a little less cumbersome and space saving. If you want take a bo peep I will put a demo up on YouTube if not don't worry I had some time to kill so I was practicing. (Been practicing for around 30 years now :D

Hi Waya,
Yes, more than Yorkshire twang! The dog sounded like it was from Lancashire, though! (Hope you aren't a Leeds United fan....)

That is very kind of you, and I learnt a lot from it.
(I loved the Cockney on the second vid!)

I guess I like a bit of both. Indeed, I prefer the Front page of the ‘Serious One’, and would also have some review quotes on the front page. Like the hover as well on the books.

Are these done using the Kit Kat (chocolate?) template?
I would be happy to chat about getting a hold of these templates.

PS What’s a Yorkshire twang doing in Indonesia?

Thanks again.
Bruce.
