I have been doing a lot of toying around with images, probably too much. I have figured out how to insert a background image and inserting to a row/column, but I would like to learn more about the different options for Pictures, 1x1, 2x1,1x2 etc, What are these options for and when do I use them. Also the difference between Picture/Picture Link/Temp Image.

Seems like I should be past this by now, but sorry, I'm not yet.:( Are there any tutorials or videos where I can get a better understanding of what I can do with images and the difference between the options?

These are things if you just add one to your layout, they are almost self explanatory. ;)

Pictures, 1x1, 2x1,1x2 etc, What are these options for and when do I use them

Those are image ratios. Read over https://www.woodst.com/web-design-devel … ers-a-lot/ and it explains how image rations work with web design.

Also the difference between Picture/Picture Link/Temp Image.

Picture: Umm, a picture. ;)
Picture Link: Same as a picture only you can have a link applied to it.
Temp Image: Just what it says. It is a temp image (place holder).

Here is a good article (also linked from the RSD Manual) on how to use the Picture Element:

Our Quick Start Guide is very helpful when getting started. We also have a new step-by-step tutorial which will walk you through transforming a static site to a responsive one that is perfect when you are just starting out.

When in doubt about an element, just add one to your layout and see what it is. You cannot break RSD. ;)

I have been adding a lot of pics, different sizes and such, but no luck at breaking it. I guess what I am confused about is when I add a picture, I want to make it wider. I see how to scale the width, and the height goes with it, but I want the width to stretch with the height staying the same.

I have a pic 621 x 428, and no matter what ratio I add it in as, it is always the same height and width. I want it to max out on the row height, but stretch on the width. I can add and project to look at later this evening, after I do more reading :D

That is not something you do with the Ratio of the image. Those are settings you enable under DIMENSIONS. If you want an image to stretch the width, set the Max-width to None and then for Max-height, uncheck None and set the dimensions to what you want it to be.

I get what NONE does, but with both unchecked I can not seem to only adjust the width and the 1:1 or 4:3 ratio does not seem to matter.

Did you set a dimension for Max-height? Remember that when you uncheck those boxes and start customizing the dimensions settings, the image ratio no longer applies.

Yes, I set a max height. I assumed that unchecking the boxes removed the ratio, but I would think I would have control over the image from there. The control at this point seems to be for the placeholder and not the image.

Sorry, I may not be on the same page, or even close. A little later I will setup an EXP page, or some screen shots to view.

Scott, would you be able to take a look at the screen shots. If this does not help then I will export the project to a test page.

Thanks.
