I have created a symbol which is carried over to several pages of my website.
I added a picture to the main symbol page, but it did not show on my other pages; other updates seem to carry over ok.

1. How do you identify if a row is a symbol or not on a page.
2. If I add a picture, should it automatically carry over to all the symbol created pages?

In RSD click on the Content tab. After that click on the symbols tab. There you can view your symbols assign them and unlink them.

Regarding the second question in the first post, in RSD2 I tested the matter as follows

(a) I put a container in a column on a blank page. In the container I put a Heading and a paragraph, and set the container as a symbol.
(b) I put the symbol into another page.
(c) Going back to the page at (a), I entered a picture into the container, and found that the picture did appear automatically in the page at (b).

The answer therefore seems to be 'Yes'

I can see the symbol on the symbols tab. However, one of my pages was not updating when the symbols were changed. it looked the same as on the symbols tab. However, I deleted the one that was not updating, and re-added the symbol. The page now works ok.

The problem was that I could not find a way to determine if the row was actually attached to the symbol or not. I don't know how it was disattached, since I added them all the same way.

You may not understand what I mean?? My description may not be clear?

Regarding the first question in the first post, if on a page one selects an item which is a Symbol, it will have an orange line around it, and in the Inspector panel there will be an orange dot against that item.

One instance of a Symbol may be detached by selecting it on a page and then going to the Content > Symbols panel and clicking on the 'Unlink Symbol' button to the right of the New Symbol button, which is what I believe Eric was referring to.
