Hello, I found this thread when I was looking how to do a sticky menu.
The first instructions of set the row to sticky, top margin to 0, and the z index to 1000 got the effect I was looking for.

However, there's an issue I can not figure out and was hoping to find some help.

First, the menu stays sticky on top, the first header pictures slides under the menu perfectly and then the first tex header as well..

That's where the issue starts. At the next row while scrolling down the menu collapses and it is no longer sticky.

Any help on these two issues would be great.

Thanks Jon

Hi Johnathan

The problem for me is that you are using Bootstrap in RSD I don't use bootstrap (in any version RSD, SDV3.5 never have, so I am not sure if sticky position works the same as foundation does. I reproduced the page in SDv3.5 and the manu stays sticky, so it must be something to do with Bootstrap, Lets hope someone who knows bootstrap see's this and can help

Ok thanks...

The page is designed from the theme "Visions" which I used because I have so many issues just trying to make simple navigation bars/menus in the this program.

Well there is another thing, I don't use themes either :D so is the menu not already sticky in that theme (which I believe is also available using Foundation, which has no issues with sticky)

In SDv3.5 doing menu's is a breeze custom or ready made

The menu is not sticky in the theme.

I started learning layout maker and then site designer not too long ago to convert several websites to reponsive.

It's amazing how technical and complicated it is in these programs to simply make a nav bar and center text links.

When the nav bar/menu is for the most part the most important part of a website, never mind in responsive design, they really should have drag and drop menus and nav bars

Drag and drop menus also have to be edited...

I have a couple of sticky Bootstrap menus in my sharing folder, see URL in my signature. The very first one to the left, under the RBB and RSD 2.5 logos is a sticky menu for RSD 2.5. If you find it useful, you can download it.

wel if I remember correctly there were a number of menu components in RSD, that were ok & easy to re-style )including dropdowns, but them I can't easily remember what I had for breakfast yesterday :D so the old grey matter might be playing tricks again

I happen to remember that there was just one collapsible 'hamburger' type menu for Bootstrap, and it was awful. That is why I started my sharing folder in the first place. :)

But he isn't using it as a collapsable menu no need really so there are others that could be used & simply restyled as required (unless there wasn't the same choice in the components as there was in foundation components.)

I'm not much help with this as I no longer have RSD installed, so I can't open the project anyway & it;s bootstrap to boot so to speak & never ever using Bootstrap I might be whistling into the wind here. but if you have made a sticky menu for RSD bootstrap, then that should be the way to go.

Hello Inger, Your drop down hamburger menu for RSD 2 is basically what I am looking for. A horizontal menu the collapses once you get down to the smallest break point and turns into the hamburger menu. I know I can edit it to my liking once I have it in the site designer.

The problem is when I click download I get this.... insstead of a download.

Ok so now I loaded RSD into another laptop

I1/ the nav row wasn't set to sticky
2/ Sticky doesn't work in Bootstrap the same as in foundation, it seems to be when you set position= sticky, bootstrap makes it like it's a fixed position
