Foundation Nested Menu default colors...

I've successfully followed the very useful tutorial ‘Create a nested Menu from scratch’ which is great. I'm using Site Designer V5 to create a Foundation-based website.

At the bottom the tutorial notes:
“There is a small issue that occurs whenever you try to customize an element that has a foundation attribute ... The style will appear and then when hovering over it will switch to Foundation's default colors (white and blue). When this happens, the solution would be to apply another class with the exact same styles to override the default.”

This is happening to my menu, but I don't entirely understand how to fix it (as a casual website builder). I would be very grateful if someone could explain this? Thank you!

It's quite a while since I used that menu, and I don't remember the class name of the element in question, but what you need to do is select that element, add another class name to it that you style with the colours you want to have.

Thanks very much for the reply.

The class is text-link-1. I'm using it for 5 elements, but it's the 2 which have nested elements which turn blue on hover. Sorry for the basic question, but what sort of name should I give the new class?

Give then any name you want, then you can change the colour to your choice

Thank you very much for the video.

I've rebuilt the menu and applied new classes to the text which seems to have resolved the hover which is great, but the text still defaults to blue on the dropdown. I just can't see a way of resolving this, using the same principles you explained on the video.

Hopefully a jpeg screenshot is attached with the preview superimposed over Site Designer.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Ahh I see now yes a problem with accordion-styled menu dropdowns, there is a fix
there is a fix but I can't remember what, I will try to find it (actually nowadays there is a better way to do something like that, I have a step by step video on how to make a simple dropdown I can make available to watch if you would prefer. unless someone else comes up with the solution code needed before)

Okay thanks very much. The simpler the better! I forgot to mention that the blue dropdown doesn't happen in mobile mode, just when expanded.

I'm in the UK, but there's no rush at all. I'll leave this part for the moment and get on with something else (and probably generate more questions!).

Thanks!
