File extension being altered - Post...

I had a problem with an export from RSD. The site previewed correctly so I exported and uploaded it to my server. The images did not show up in my browser. After much head scratching and investigation, I discovered that the file extension .jpg was lower case in my RSD resources but when I exported the site they were saved upper case .JPG. I manually changed the extension to lower case in the exported file, uploaded them to my server and voila, all was well.

Don't know how or where in the process the file extension was changed from lower case to upper case, but it sure ate some of my time trying to isolate the problem. The extension was saved lower case (by default in Photoshop), added as such in RSD resources, but in the export process seem to have been changed to upper case.

Might this perhaps be a server issue? Such things are reported on the web, such as here, which also suggests a solution.

No, this all happened on my computer. The exported RSD website had the .jpg images changed to .JPG on my computer. When I discovered what had happened, I opened the exported file to the images and changed the file extension back to lower case. Once uploaded, everything was perfect.

Just for the record, I made additional changes to my site. I exported it again and fully expected to have to change my file extensions to lower case again. However, the extensions were correct this time. I have no idea what happened. I suppose it was just one of those computer glitches that sometimes happen. At any rate all is well now.
