What program do you guys find useful for explanation videos. I have seen examples in the forms of people doing a video that that has audio and super superimpose copy or arrows on top of the picture.. Hope that makes sense thanks in advance.

There are many applications available, some for online others to download some are free with basic stuff with perhaps a few additional features other are premium with things more advanced features,

Just do a search for video screen recorders, there are plenty of sites that list them usually in some sort of order with regards to popularity costs and features, have a read compare them look at some samples make a choice.

Snagit is a reasonable one. ~$63 for a lifetime license but only ~$13/yr for a maintenance that keeps you in updates and help for that lifetime. OF course their Camtasia is much more expensive to buy ~$300 for lifetime and ~$54/yr for the maintenance.

Ispring

Has a free version easy and simple to use for basic stuff.
