Editing a color palette

Is there a way to edit an existing color palette? I have a project where i tried different colors and have them dragged to the grid on the right.

How do we delete the ones we want to remove or do we need to get rid of the entire palette and rebuild it again?

I don't think you will be able to edit those colours once you have selected them. There was a wee app called Color palette manager once, with that you could switch to a different palette. Not sure if that app will survive...

That's what I was afraid of. I'll keep trying to figure out how to at least remove a color palette so I can rebuild the ones that have extra colors added that are not needed. Thanks Inger.

You can always just make the colours you don't want down to opacity = 0 I know it's not deleting them, but as Imger says that isn't possible at the moment.at least with opacity = 0 you dont see the colours you don't want

to remove a pallete you need to have the APP colour pallet manager installed and open it outside of SD that way allows deleting pallets

Wayan,

I figured out the part about using CPM outside of SD3 late last night. I also found out we can delete colors from a palette.

Open a palette in CRM and click on edit. Select the color you want to delete. Move ALL the sliders down to zero and click OK.

I also noticed the blank color rectangles are coded as black when you hover over them. After I deleted that 'purple' color that shows up in all the palettes and hovered over that spot it showed as black.

The one thing I haven't figured out yet is how to change palettes in SD3. It gives the option to switch but only shows one palette. So I have to figure out how to get the list of palettes to show in SD3.

On the SD toolbar you find Palettes next to Pages. Click on Browse, and the programme will find every palette you have in your system. The you have to select one or more, drag them across to where it says Project Palettes. After that you will find the ones you dragged in the Switch dialog.

But I was not able to delete any colours following your instructions :o

Deleting a colour if one has Color Palette Manager installed is, of course, just a matter of using the Delete key on the keyboard while in the Edit Color Palette box (the one with a colour circle containing a triangle).

I have found that there is another way, but am unable to test whether it works if one doesn't have Color Palette Manager installed. In the Edit Color Palette box I do the following -
(a) I click on an empty small colour box in the bottom right section, and drag it to the larger box below the colour circle. I initially thought this wouldn't be necessary because it seemed to show empty already, but it was necessary.
(b) I clicked on that larger box and dragged it over the small color box I wished to remove.

Does this perhaps work if one doesn't have the Color Palette Manager installed?

They show as black but =0 alpha (opacity) same as if you made the colours you don't want = opacity (Alpha = 0) except it's the colour you made opacity = 0, but now no need to worry about that Frank had the way
hit the browse button next to switch to see all the pallets
