Because many people here have no understanding of the concept "Framework" and are used to cut-and-paste.

That’s a little harsh, Hennie. Many people here are learning and that’s why they ask questions like this.

Wayan, I read that Orbit had become obsolete so that is why I didn’t pursue it. Now that I know that there isn’t a way to use Materialize classes in Foundation, I’ve found another way around to create what I wanted.

Thanks to those with the helpful comments!

Orbit is not obsolete far from it they stopped it for a short while but when they brought it back it was so improved that's why it is still available in the components library CC would hardly keep a component in the library that was obsolete

If one is still learning then perhaps better to ask the question first rather than jumping in and then asking..

Seems like this is turning personal. Someone seeking help should be welcome here. Someone with other ideas should be welcome here. Those with short tempers should try to reign them in. My $0.02.

With this in mind it seems a bit strange to me that -working on macOS- I'm not able to open more than 1 SD documents/projects at a time.

I'm sometimes using a macBook, but I'm not so very skilled with the MacOS. I have actually never tried opening more than 1 SD project at the time.

In Windows I can have a shortcut icon in the taskbar, then also one on the destop. If I open by the one in the task bar, I can only open one project. But with the desktop icon I can open as many as I like (I've had 5 open sometimes). Is there something like that also on the Mac?

I did not mean to be harsh. And nothing personal.
It's just that, in my opinion, if you want to use software like SD some basic knowledge of the concept of frameworks is needed. SD is simply not a beginners tool. They wouldn't know which framework to select in the first place. Coffeecup is not very clear about the level of website knowledge that is required for using a tool like SD.
Consequently, a lot of time in this forum is spent on answering questions that have nothing to do with how to use SD, but with the basics of website technology.
Or am I too harsh now?

I don't even know what "frameworks" are, yet I am almost done designing my first website with Site Designer.
I think that relative beginners can indeed be successful using Site Designer, if they do the tutorials.
Well worth the price.

I'm a hack and also went through the whole "Which framework is best" What I got out of the whole thing is that a framework is a bucket of parts, we have Ford, GM, and Dodge. You can use the parts to make a car but the Ford parts don't work on the GM, they may be able to get attached in some fashion but it wouldn't be necessarily a great or maintainable result. So if you built a Ford and want a GM, you gotta start all over. Of course we're just talking about the layout not the content.

As far as what framework to choose...it's a matter of preference just like Apple, Microsoft, Linux, iPhone, Samsung, etc. They all do the same thing. I read that Materialize is geared to manufacturing(I may have made that up), Bootstrap is the most prevalent and Foundation is up and coming just not a s mature as Bootstrap.

And that is all I know (or don't klnow) for what it's worth...

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
