Conversion of RSD2.5 project files to...
Step One of the tutorial is 'Delete auto-generated Rows and Columns classes'. It says,
(a) "Begin by deleting all the Layout Classes related to the original Rows and Columns";
(b) "You can verify that you have deleted all of the row and column Layout Class names easily by using the Elements pane. The classes are listed in blue for each element on your tree".
The impression I gain is that one should delete both the Layout class (e.g. row) as instructed by (a), AND the Type class (e.g. row-type) in order to achieve (b).
The answers to the following are probably obvious to others, but I fear that they are not obvious to me.
1. Is it perhaps the case that
(a) the items in the 'Layout class' box are just to describe what that container replaces from the previous version of RSD;
(b) the deletable item in the 'Type class' box is just to identify in the Elements Tree those items have an entry in the 'Layout class' box;
(c) the actual style etc. settings of the container are the remaining ones that are not deleted in this Step One?
2. If the answers to item 1 above are 'Yes',
(a) could there be a function to automate the removal of the items one is asked to delete, or is the absence of such a function because it might create less clarity for the program user during the course of such conversion;
(b) is there a non-conversion use for the 'Layout box' classes?
I will appreciate any clarification of these matters.
Thanks.
Frank

The answer to 2(b) is yes. I using them to design right now in SD3 Bootstrap 4.1 today.

Bootstrap 5 CSS Grid.
Thanks, Twinstream.
I'll experiment to find the functional use of them.

I begin to understand it: the Layout Class box is to do with the framework one is using. Just as the Insert box above the Type Class box shows 'Foundation classes', so the Insert box above the Layout Class box could have shown 'Foundation Layout classes'. Because it didn't, I failed to associate that box with the framework.
The answer to questions 1(a) and 1(c) of my original post is clearly 'No', and Twinstream has clarified that the answer to question 2(b) is 'Yes'.
In the tutorial one finds the following immediately after opening technologic.rsd in Site Designer V3:
1. it uses the Foundation framework;
2. the first container has 'row' in the Layout Class box, and 'nav-row' and 'row-type' in the Type Class box;
3. the second container has 'columns' and 'small-12' in the Layout Class box, and 'column-type' in the Type Class box.
It seems that
(i) that the classes 'row-type' and 'column-type' are primarily for identifying which containers were previously rows or columns (I have not found in the Foundation-6 documentation any classes with those names);
(ii) that ALL the classes in the Type Class box of those containers were deleted (the last screen-shot in Step One of the tutorial).
That seems the answer to question 1(b) of my original post. I report the above just in case there are others, like me, who were'nt sure about these matters.
If any of my conclusions above are wrong, I trust that someone will post corrections.
