I have saved my header and nav menu all together as a Component. And I simply insert that Component into each new page (or just duplicate a page that has it and then change the body of the new page). Doing the same thing for my footer. This is working great and saving me time!
But..... If I decide to make a change later, or notice one menu link is spelled wrong or has the wrong link, then is there a way to make that edit to the Component and have it correct the Component on every other page that already has that Component? Like changing some css that has a class and everything else sitewide that has that class changes too?
Or with Components, if I make a change after the whole site is built, I just have to go through and edit the Component on each & every page?
I tried to save the edited Component with a new name and then go to each page and delete the old one and insert the new one, and it won't do it. For instance, when I do this on page 2 of the site, it tells me "A component with the same identifier already exists in your project." So I'm assuming that is referring to the new component that is now on page 1?
I can duplicate pages with the same component in them, but I can't go through and add the same component to each page?
Just trying to find a way to do this quickly. If I want to change the alt text on every menu link, then I don't mind changing them on one and saving as a component and then just add the new component to each page. But if I have to go to each & every page and edit the alt text on each & every link, then I'm thinking components are only time savers if you don't have to edit them later. (I still love them though!)
